Closing my server
-
Even though I’ve never played your mod or on your server, I hate to see it go down. However, I understand your reasons. I not being a modder myself, can’t compete with those that are and only run others mods if allowed to try and offer the same as you have. I even offer RP and used to do good a few years ago but now, I can’t compete with those that have the flashy mods with all the extra effects in them. I just try to keep the Freelancer Spirit alive and to exhibit mods that haven’t been fully reviewed when I can as server option.
Maybe you’ll come back with a mod that will blow the rest of them way. ;D
Good luck and take care.

Hey Gibbon,
Sorry to hear about that, it’s always sad seeing another server go down. I really do hope you stay around and maybe embark in another adventure.
Think we all know what pulling back effect Freelancer has
-
Sorry to see it shut down but I can understand not wanting to run a server without players. Hope to see ya make a TC out of the Starlancer ships.

Actually something called Black Prophecy has got my attention atm, not out yet but very FL in many aspects. Having said that, think when it gets a bit colder up here in sunny Sweden, which prob won’t be long, then i’ll look at this TC SL mod in more detail

[A] Very sad to see a server close its doors.
**I never played any of your servers but i have new your name in Freelancer for a long long time.
[C] Due to the outstanding contribution you have gave to “us” the players with information and such i would like to see you keep your status here at Starport in my own opinion only.

I’m sorry for you Gibbon. It’s sad to hear always :-
Hope you take the right desiccion. Anyway, maybe you can start it later again, if the need is thereThank you for all.
Good luck

Gibbon, sorry if you already made up your mind to shut down.
How about another mod instead?
I don’t agree about servers being in competition - my view is to offer an alternative, if not a unique mod then at least a different environment.
Our players stuck with us even with dated TNG until our own mod was released, it’s a meeting place for friends of like minds who like that environment or gameplay style.
Try it out mate, hate to see less of you, stick it out.

@Gibbon:
The 24/7 Phoenix server will officially close on the 12th July 2009. This is due to dwindling player numbers and an inability to compete with the larger servers. I’ve never understood the need for RP on servers as Freelancer is all about doing what you want with no restrictions, i tried to offer that, but sadly it clearly wasn’t enough. Thanks to all those who’ve helped me out with my various projects over the years, it was much appreciated. I’ve had a fun ride but it’s time to call it a day. I’ll still be popping in so not like i’m disappearing lol. I still have all those Starlancer models so will give me some time to work out what to do with them…
Pvp servers are popular too.
Hamburg City for example.
If to aim to make better than HC server, People should come
Must be a good competition, i think. -
im running my server again and there are only two players on it. me and somebody else and the mod is pretty easy to get. its just everybody has theyre own communitys and the player count for freelancer is fallen off. it used to be boomen. i could remember when i first started i couldnt even get on my server because it was so crowded and i couldnt get on other peoples servers eighter for the same reason.
