Starting the Multiplayer Mod
-
Ok lets try this again, I launch the FLMM Mod “the Void” multiplayer “internet” option to load the Character select. My 2 char. that are listed do not show what ship they bear. So I choose the one I want to start and get into the game. Than when I look at whos playing, their location is listed as ??? and others are Blank listings…What may be causing this lack of info?

That definitely sounds like your mod isn’t activated.
Using FLMM, do you see the Void’s mod with a green check mark besides its name (the icon on the left)? Is your path to Freelancer the default one (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer)? Are you using FLMM 1.31?

hi: yes the mod listed in the FLMM is activated, it is the Void2115 mod, than when i select the “internet” multiplayer connect to choose the player(s) i have in the game already saved. the ships column does not list the name of my current ships that i have been using. But i choose one, connect, and enter the game. Now the page that list the other players in the “Void2115” where they are located; which system thay are in only shows, (???) 4 question marks. and for others there is notheng. it is blank.
-
And you’re playing on the server which runs Void2115 and not any other?
-
right u can only run one mod at a time, hence FLMM. used to activate and deactivate each mod u may have. now when i start the FLMM a window pops up stating thst there is a problem with a Mod. i click on the OK and FLMM opens up and down on the LOG it states that there are no scrips in the files. For the Workarounds. But the Void Mod is activated, So i start Freelancer, it opens up to select the Multiplayer, i wait for all the servers to load and chosse the Viod that i have activated…and i have 2 ship in the Void2115v6 to chose from. But the name of the ships are not there, but i can connect. and then in the game on the Broadcast system page, the listings of the other ships is only partial. some locations are ??? and others are Blank. And after i explor a territory nothing gets recorded and saved to view in the remapping page. the area to view to plot a coarse.Somthing is not right…

It will be far simpler and quicker to do the following:-
Double-click on Freelancer\EXE\myflaccountid.hta, write down your Multiplayer Account code, and keep it safe.
If you use more than one account on the same PC then do this for the other account(s) too.
De-activate the mod using FLMM. This is important. If it fails then uninstall and re-install FLMM.
Delete the mods in FLMM’s \mods folders (I never use the built-in ones anyway, this bit is up to you, I only keep the one or two that I am using). But definitely delete the troublesome Void one.
Rename your Freelancer game folder to BadFreelancer, or delete it.
Delete or rename the player files folder C:\Documents and Settings(your account name)\My Documents\My Games\Freelancer
Re-install Freelancer from your CD.
Add the official MS 1.1 patch.
Copy the new Freelancer folder by selecting it in the right-hand pane of Explorer, then Ctrl-C, then Ctrl-V. You will now have a folder named Copy of Freelancer, with 1.1 patch, so you will never need to re-install again. In future you can just rename or delete a suspect Freelancer folder, then copy this copy and rename it to Freelancer. Easy. You can also move the copy to another partition or hard disk or a USB memory stick.
If you are not sure that your original downloaded mod file is good, download a fresh copy. Double-click on it and FLMM will load it up. Look for any errors in the log window. If its OK, activate it and try again.
