Hello: If this is the right forum, I would like to send my thanks to all who have been answering my questions, private and public alike…Thank You
Now; is there a fix for this problem? I’m selecting my multiplayer char. and there is Not a listing naming my ship(s). Also in the game there are no listings of some of the other players locations. They have 4 Question marks (???) or the space is blank. -
First, what server are you connecting to? Do you have any existing character(s) on that server? Are you always on the same computer? Do you have the proper mod for said server? Did you make sure the server you want to connect to does not have specific restrictions/guidelines to follow?

I made a reply to this problem on the other topic you started for it. Saves double-posting.

Hi: I read somewhere that it is harder to get going this time around.
My system is Vista Busi. Service pack 2, running as Admistrater, compa. to XP, Options Audio 3D sound Off. Fresh install Hardware and Patch Fix and Copy made and saved to USB Flash.
A new download of FLMM and The Void Mod loaded and activated. (no problems with that). However when i click on the FLMM that window pops up again stating that there is a problem with Mod(s).
In the LOG of FLMM are 3 posted Errors. all for the \gls, \flgls, and the \flgls-v0 all of which i have not put there; they seem to be Automatically placed and regected.
All missing Scrips.xml. -
FLMM is running as administrator?
And you still haven’t told us which version of FLMM you use, I believe.

Some info from the Freelancer Comunity.net website:

As I understand it, one of the things you need to do (besides an antivirus issue) is to install FL in some other folder other that C/Programs, ie C:/Games for example. Vista and FL are very picky on which antivirus app will and won’t let you connect.Fus
(Bold used for emphasis only)
Edit 2: If you have a X-fire account, Use it to get into your desired FL server, they prob have a ip reference at their website.

Vista is a bit touchy with user account control enabled when working with mods.
The solution is to go into the folder microsoft games, right click on the Freelancer folder, select properties. Once there security tab and then click edit permissions.
Once that box opens up then you have to select Users, and click the box to allow full control, then click Ok and Ok out of the other boxes.
This will allow you to apply mods, as its just when working with files within the program files folder that vista applies its protection.
Something I had to find out myself as I also have vista.
