Voice Creation Tool?
-
I’m looking for a rather advanced tool, and I’m not sure if it’s even possible to get a hold of, but alas. What I want this tool to do is to basically “read” the voice files (rvp_101, atc_leg_m01, etc), and then be able to make audio clips saying something in the same voice. I want this for its most obvious reason: I want my new factions, bases, systems, etc., to have audio files associated with them, so you don’t hear “I’m moving _ to _,” or “This is _ to _ Kappa Seven…”
This, of course, would be a very expensive and complex tool, but I don’t have the time, patience, or talent to completely redo the voices, and I want them to sound as close as possible to the ingame voices. So, does anyone know of such a tool and where I can get it?

Just a possible solution - use any text-to-voice tool, natural reader for example, and make some completely new voices for the factions for vanilla systems, so new voices won’t sound so unnatural for new custom systems.
Posting 'cos I doubt it is easy to find a program that changes the voice itself without requiring some profound knowledge.
Actually I think many are interested in this, Me2.

Ideally, it would be a text-to-voice tool, except that the voice is based off of a large sample of an already used voice. Text-to-voice tools in general sound too artificial to re-do the whole FL voice system.
Anything that gets the job done, however, would work.

In my opinion something that would really help is a tool for easy utf editing, I mean that you dont have to crc-name and import all these new sounds yourself…

Freelancer XML Project will convert UTF to XML, extracting the audio files using the msg nickname. Still in the process of XML to UTF, but I hadn’t planned on making it convert names to hash, but now that I think about it, I see a way to do it. Instead of using the hash for the tag, use the name and convert that, rather than having to extract it from the file name. So instead of having to calculate the hash and use <0x…/> you could just use <gcs_refer_my_new_faction_short …=“”></gcs_refer_my_new_faction_short>. Hm, maybe I should change UTFXML…nah, you can see it in the file name, no need to have it twice, making the lines longer than they already are.

I thought voice files inside the utfs have to be crc’ed…is that wrong?

The CRC is that of the message name, this part is easy to do manually.

Nope.

If I knew a tool like this existed we wouldn’t have created more than 4,000 new wave files for the UnderVerse lol. We have totally redone a male pilot, female pilot, the docking character, mission commision, bribes girls and the ships voice.
Looks like you are stuck doing it the manual way. Here is a tutorial:

The end result is actually quite fun to enjoy (but a ton of work!)
