Eclipse uber IDE !!1
-
Hi dudes,
during my traineeship I worked with the Eclipse IDE which I must say is one of the best IDEs I ever saw. Not only it is free software, it comes with a very handy design and menu, is highly customizable, and now, the most awesome feature ever seen in an IDE, it shows the coding/syntax errors on the fly so you don’t have to compile your application to see the errors!
Actually, I only tested the Java version, but it supports also many other languages, for instance, Cpp, and also HTML/PHP (no more invalid html websites, uh!)!Download & info:

'course Eclipse is awesome, plus Helios was just released.
The Java Eclipse perspective is a breeze to use, I’d say even better than Visual Studio.

It works fine for java but Eclipse is slow and painful for everything else.
Its C/C++ integration is extremely annoying and makes current MS IDEs look really good. I was using it with gcc under linux which is one of its primary targets.
Last time I used it, it made me want to go back to VS2003.
