High resolutions

Fact is that it’s always good to play at your monitors default resolution, anything else just doesn’t look great on LCD’s. Mine is a rather awkward 1900 x 1200, 16:10 ratio if anyones considering adding resolutions to a patch. I’d be grateful.
Promise I wont do a StarTrader if you tell me to piss off. Coined a new phrase there, StarTrader, the new word for flame head.
Don’t take it personally ST, just taking the micky. Now I’m going to retreat to a safe distance and await a bitch slapping from hell.

My monitor’s 1920x1200 and I just use DSAce’s -dx parameter, which automatically loads the desktop resolution. Works fine.

Cool it gentlemen.
Also, it’s as adoxa said it - try setting your desktop resolution first before launching the game; that should do the trick.
Frank, you’ll also need to insert fovx = 0 values into cameras.ini for JFLP to do its auto-calculation. Either steal the cameras.ini from Flak or from the JFLP zip itself.
Edit: It appears the zip doesn’t have the cameras.ini - to save you some trouble, I uploaded it here: http://www.memes.no/88flak/downloads/beta/Cameras.ini

jflp is not working for me, used the cameras file you made available aswell. Monitor is always set at native 1900 x 1200. Is it compatible with win7? I could just be a useless idiot mind, if nothing else, I’m good at that.
Could try DSAce but it’s server software isn’t it? Does that work with sp?
I’m not truly bothered, I’ve made do with using the 1:1 option on the monitor up until now, black borders are easy to ignore on a screen this big.
When all is said and done, do these workarounds actually render the game at resolutions above 1600 x 1200 or do they just stretch the image like a monitor can already do?

After all that, I’m not sure what’s what. Make sure you use the jflp.dll from here, not from jflp.zip (you should see 1.1.1 in the spew). It should add your current desktop resolution to the end of the resolutions list, which you should then be able to select as normal. However, I had some troubles switching res myself, so you may have to try a couple of times (with different reses) before it works. If all else fails, you should still be able to exit and do it directly in PerfOptions.ini.
The intro screen is stretched, but everything else should work fine. The HUD items are at the same relative position as 4:3; use HUD Shift if you want them back at the screen edges.

I don’t want to point out the obvious but you did change the values in PerfOptions.ini didn’t you? it’s not just plugging in the .dll and away you go. If you didn’t go to My Documents\My Games\Freelancer\PerfOptions.ini and at the bottom is a display section with your resolution in it.
Wow you made a hud shifter adoxa, damn i wonder what else i’ve missed better check your site for more goodies

Yes they do is the simple answer. I run mine in 1680x1050 and it looks very nice indeed and everything is where it’s supposed to be.
