I wonder if some simple shadow for the plants would put a massive strain on the engine - nevertheless, it’d add a lot to the feel of it.

As far as the music goes, you will have to ask Rich Douglas for permission. He gave away an entire albums worth due to the person who he made it for being a bunghole. His link is in the left side bar of Galaxy Empire.

As far as shadows, the most I could do with that many is a simple static shadow under the plants. I havent implemented distance based culling yet so every last plant was being rendered every frame.

Hehe, asteroids are already batch rendered using the same renderer that the plants use.
