Windows 8 does not play well with freelancer

i have been messing around with different builds of windows 8 on my pc. just to let you guys know freelancer does not play well with windows 8. if you have to upgrade use windows 7.

2000 can launch, brand-new dx-18 win8 can’t, and they keep talking about “progress”,“future” and “improvements”…
Gotta be smarter than the biggest world-wide corp to make a custom compatibility(hack). I hope the local hackers haven’t buried fl already after star sitizen came. Everything leads towards that now(((

I’ve had no issue running FL when I tried it on the Win8 developer preview.

Me too, except drivers for videocards still raw - runs bit slower.

I’m using the final version of Win 8 x64 Enterprise for some weeks now.
I had no issues with Freelancer so far. -
I recently upgraded to Windows 8 on my home pc and when I played Freelancer yesterday it ran just fine.

Everything turned out good. Phew, so i had just a fake-alarm due to paranoia level set to number five.

So I found my old copy of Freelancer. I installed the game and when I run the game and get past the intro videos the main menu/game run at 1FPS.
I really want to play freelancer on my current comp. I am really disliking how windows 8 has made it difficult for me to play my old game. I want to play freelancer to pass the time while I wait for Star Citizen. People who are playing freelancer on their current computer, can you please help me?

Need a lot more information than Windows 8 and framerate issues. Hardware specs, etc.

Windows 8 64 bit -
im runnig windows 8 x86 it works perfect for me
