just a question: do you still use DX’s forward renderer or it is some sort of custom deffered one? As huge battles will have it’s impact on rendering speed I guess.

Untill you relase it for all of us… it’s… just for SW
shove it, im sick of waitng for this, being teased for years now… enough. i dont vare about that mod… i dont mod that mod, i mod freelancer… and this, untill you give it up… is just for you
F’ckn quit it, i was exited at first… many moons ago, now most of us feel teased, depresed and overly jaded by this “thing” you have that you wont share.

Really? It has been said THE ENTIRE TIME When its released, it will be availible to EVERYONE. Screw you if you dont have the patience to wait for something that youll get FOR NOTHING. Balls to you sir.

In fairness to Xarian, most of us not involved with the FW:TOW project do feel a little frustrated that the dx9 conversion has existed for what must be getting on a couple of years or something now, yet none of us can play with it. Who wouldn’t be when we can see the obvious benefits of it. Xarian just flipped that’s all, his meds can no longer compensate for his desire for that which he can see, but can’t have
I guess the real story here is that the mod has taken you guys a lot longer to produce than was anticipated, we all had our hopes up for christmas last year, and in many ways we were not just hoping to play the mod, we were also looking forward to seeing it work on vanilla fl shortly afterwards.
Personally, as frustrating as I find it too, I still vote for you on moddb, because all bs aside, it’s impressive work and has to be recognised as such. Well done to you all, now hurry up!

Funny that when Freelancer took years more than anticipated, people just salivated and waited patiently. I don’t recall people throwing their toys out of the pram because obviously they were purposefully delaying all of this.
I mean fuck, these things take inordinate amounts of time. This is one of those cases where I’d say shut up if you don’t know what you’re talking about. You should be happy to know you’ll get it at all, happy the entire thing merely exists.
It’s infuriating just how entitled people can be. Shadow mapping took me a MONTH to get right, and that’s just one small piece. And now you mean to tell me you not only want it, but you also want it NOW? Screw you. You’re not paying me, you’re not even helping me.
This will be done when it’s done. We’re close, but we’re not there yet. I can’t believe I’m having to write all of this.

I think sometimes people also forget how much reverse engineering work all of this requires. Contrary to some other folks, we share our latest findings via the FLHook SDK - and so does Cannon from the Discovery team. It is one of the best examples of people working together, yet shit is being thrown around. Some of the client stuff is not easily shared because of cheating concerns, so that’s why it is not as public.
Next I expect a certain individual telling us that we destroy the FL community.

Seriously, Great looking as always guys, keep up the good work. It is horrible having to wait with our tongues hanging out but i totally get that you want it finished or “ready” and dont want to release something your not happy with.

I well know the feeling of waiting overlong for something you want. If it reassures you, know that I too am tired of waiting for the mod to be released, if only so that I can stop having all that pressure and can move on to other things
