Just watched a bit of your tutorial and it’s quite good mate, cheers for taking the time to make it.
It’s been quite a few years since I’ve played around with Maya but I remember I just couldn’t get the hang of it at the time, thou now I’m starting to have a change of heart as it looks really attractive and I really like the UI layout and menus.

My school’s made a believer out of me when it comes to Maya. I used to swear by 3ds Max. When it comes to renders, I still kinda do, its far more powerful in that respect… but when it comes to building geometry and uv layouts… nothing beats Maya.

Uh, I don’t use PS, it’s too expensive, do you have a Gimpshop alt?

I do not. However, the techniques involved are pretty much the same across the board.

I need the GIMP 2.6 plugins for DDS, otherwise my project is at a virtual standstill.

Yeah, just got them, the latest iteration for 2.6 the others won’t be so useful. I can’t use Gimp 2.8 kept getting crashes dealing with larger files.

UPDATE: I’m gonna make an original R-Type vessel for Discovery, perhaps the first of many original designs. Is that OK? They’ll each get a vessel-bound superweapon based on their purpose and design. How cool is that?
