Freelancer Patch 1.1 problem
-
Hello,
lately I’ve been trying installing the patch 1.1 on my pc
Win7-64bit.I installed Freelancer in server mode only and after
starting applying the patch I get an error message:Setup was unable to find (or could not read) the language
specific setup resource dll, unable to continue.
Please reboot and try again." errorI installed the server to my notebook which has Win7-64bit
too and there were no problems.Did anyone else come across this problem?
Furthermore I found out, that the patch is just an archive,
which can opened with WinRAR. I just copied those
files into my Freelancer folder, but after this action
I can’t uninstall the game anymore. -
It works on my desktop - are the regional, timezone, language and keyboard settings the same on both your machines?
When you want to de-install FL just delete your entire Freelancer folder.
Once you have deleted the folder, re-install standard FL again and then use the uninstaller.
Then you may want to delete the (Your Account Name)\My Documents\My Games\Freelancer folder, this is where the saved games and settings are stored.
Unfortunately the FL uninstaller does not always clean out all registry changes.
So then you can use a registry cleaner like CCleaner to get rid of some of the obvious registry entries, but again it may not find and delete all of them.
I have taken an image of each of my disks before installing games, so I can revert back to that if I need to and then just re-install what I want.

Thank you for the answers.
That’s also my approach to installing games and software.
I always have a backup done of my SSD and then I try to
install software and games. In a few days I will have assembled my new PC and will try
to install the patch on it again. The notebook I used for the server had the same settings
regarding the language, region settings, etc.Doesn’t there exist some patches from Adoxa that are used
for patching Freelancer? Those must be too just extracting
files and patching the Freelancer Folder just by overwriting? In my case I’m searching for a workaround tf the patching
problem will repeat. Unfortunately FLServer does not show
a changed version when patched,
