Hi,
Yes, mod is Evo based, but we removed almost everything that was in Evo and vanilla FL.
Mod is story-based, there is war between two factions. Factions have storage (to store commodities permanently) and foundry (to convert few types of commodities - ore to plates) and they have to research new things, such as weapons, ships.I forgot to translate some messages to English, I will fix it tomorrow.
Infocards are in Czech and English, at least it should be.EDIT: Our web is http://destinyofsol.cz/, but we donāt have English section on forums yet.

What Iād like to know is why large parts of this mod (starspheres, planets, solar models, etc) where taken from Crossfire 1.9 without permission or any form of notice.This is just one my many files that were taken from my mod.
While I tend to share my work with other modders which ask for permission I have a real problem with people that simply take what is not theirs.

Iām (server-side) programmer, so I donāt know what is in our mod. But our modder said:
Starsphers are not from crossfire and if there is some of yours, it is not intentional. Because we will use only the one we made. Planets are taken from your mod, thatās right, but we will change them cause some of them donāt look good. I took max. 5 solar models and black hole. That should be everything. And if you ask why I did itā¦ I took that things when I launch project alone. Then other people join in and we started to make our own stuff which we replace the old one. But honestly, how many things did you took from other mods when you started?
PS: Freelancer is old gameā¦ There will be other games of this type and FL will be forgotten. It is only about preserving our CZ/SK community. You shouldnāt freak out because of few things and you can write us private message. -

I started modding this game only a few weeks after its release and since that have either used stuff that was clearly labled as āfree to useā, asked the original authors/creators for permission or created the stuff that i need by my own.
However, I didnāt freak out. I made my point clear and requested an answer.
We also dont need to debate on how old Freelancer is and that there are other games of this kind. I am fully aware of that and certainly would have helped out with the creation of your mod if you had asked in first place.But right now I just want to see the CF content removed from it.
While I have to take a 2nd look on the starspheres to confirm it I meanwhile had the chance to check the other files of the mod.
Next to the solar models and the almost 70 planets there are 5 weapon models from Crossfire, various planet textures and the solar mats for the stationsI agree that we can do further discussions about this matter in private, in order to determine how to deal with this situation. I am certainly not happy to see my work in your mod without having given any permissions to you guys, but on the other side i have no interest to see your project/community going down the drain because of that.

Our mod is basically solar system. If we remove your assets, it will damage our server and mod. It means if we remove that, our mod canāt work. So we are going to create our models and textures and replace all Crossfire assets. I hope you will agree.

Hopefully, this will all get sorted out and things will continue to go as planned. Freelancer needs to survive anyway it can.

It tells something like:- base connection is closed: unknown download error
And the folder of updates looks now strange:

Sorry about that, but our FTP server doesnāt want to communicate with some people and I donāt know whyā¦I restarted it now, but I donāt know if it helps.
You can download all updates manually and copy them to game folder, thatās fastest workaround for now.

If you want to try to use updater after installing updates manually, you have to create file āFLUpdater.dbā in EXE folder and write ā11ā into it (e.g. with notepad). Sometimes, the updater magically starts to work after you install these updatesā¦
Current FTP server is written by me and I donāt have any problem with it, but many people reported the same problem. I would like to use HTTP server instead of FTP, but I donāt have much time to rewrite itā¦

Try to use FTP passive mode for your FTP Server - it is bit slower but usually it helps.

It should be already passive (C# FtpWebRequest is using passive mode as default). Server is using port range 7000 - 7200 for passive mode, but I think it doesnāt matter.

It looks like FTP isnāt my friend anymoreā¦ 227 is success code, not error.
You can try to run updater with /log parameter, and then send me āDeath FL Updaterā folder from Desktop. But I think it will not help me.

Yes, sometimes itās better to have more info than less Iām using FieldLog library for this logging.
There is probably problem with first update, which is very big (about 650MB). I donāt know how to fix it. Iām going to update our software and use HTTP instead of FTP in (hopefully, near) future. Then, It should be more stable.

We are in the alpha testing phase and we havenāt a clear intallation program for it. just wait a while and we open english section of the forum for download alpha version installation program. I just working on it
