Radiation exclusion zone

Let’s say I have a radiation zone that encompasses the entire system. This zone does not have any nebula or asteroid content so it’s not defined in those files. But, I’d like to have a zone within that zone that does not take radiation damage. A protected area if you will.
How would I exclude that zone from receiving radiation damage?
Can one create an asteroid zone with no asteroids for that purpose?
Can you exclude a subzone from radiation damage anyway? -
In your system file your exclusion zone must have a higher sort priority than the surrounding zone, and you have to set the damage value very low, like 0.0001. If it is zero, it will not overwrite the damage of it’s surrounding zone. This is the only solution I know, but it will still show the radiation damage icon.

That would be fine. How do you set the sort priority, just have that entry higher than the other one in the system ini?

Lower sort values mean higher priority.
