Well if not I have 200mb of “best” compressed qualitly FL tools and stuff, which I will be of course uploading to StarPort for everyone to use.
Thank you mate. The more tools and utilities we have the better.
Hopefully in time we will have a large DB of tools covering all aspects of FL Modelling etc.

It’s not just the tools, though. The amount of tutorials stored on TLR is incredible, and losing it would be a proportionally incredible blow to the modding community.
-
I agree. Having the posts and tutorials for reference and/or troubleshooting purposes was invaluable. I think it is everyones duty to re-educate eachother and do their best to help a person out if they ask a question in the help sections. There will be others who have the same question in the future, and we can help them out.

You may want to speak with Gibbon at the Gizmo Studios Forum:
http://gizmostudios.proboards38.com/index.cgi
He has some basic modding tutorials I’m fairly sure you’d be able to copy. If anything it would be a time saver, and it couldn’t hurt to add them to our community. -
TLR is now back up. Hopefully it will stay up this time
-
This can’t really be called back up :(.
We appoligise for the site being down, but ask you to be patient with us, and we will have it back up soon.
Feel free to visit our IRC room (#Lancersreactor on irc.quakenet.org) or join our Teamspeak server (ts.lancersreactor.com)
for FL related discussion and help -
What I would love (in an ideal world) is for Lancers to recognise this site, and others, as a good thing.
They could split thier Database in half for instance. Give half to us and have to Freelancercommunity.net. Then when they have issues and the site goes down, people still have places to turn to for Downloads and Mods.
However, they almost point blankly refused to acknowledge the RIP teams site, so I doubt they will acknowledge us anytime soon.
It is a shame, its times like these we should be working together….
-
Well im going to be totally blunt and i dont care what people think of it either.
If they got their heads out of their arses and realised thei site and the RIP’s site is here to compliment TLR and not steal there thunder then reducing the work load would happen.
But i doubt that will happen because some people point blank refuse to see that these 2 sites are a good thing.
The more sources of information people can find on freelancer the better it is for us server admins and hosts.
If we relied on TLR the game would be dead in a few weeks with them yo yo’ing on and offline.
its like that grand old duke of york song isnt it
you know
“when they were up they were up, when they were down they were down, but when they were only half way up they were neither up nor down”
-
When diplomacy fails, there’s always war.

At this point there are far too many internal issues with the site that need to be resolved before true progress can be made on everything else. This probably sounds like a lame cop-out, the the situation that TLR is in right now is a bit more complicated than most people know.
There was a bit of a meet-up yesterday morning, in which I expressed my opinion that a healthy community cannot be composed entirely of one lone site - a position on which I have every intention of standing as firmly as possible.

Its good to hear you think along those line, and I do hope you stand firmly by that believe.
I havent logged back on to TLR since it came back on. Mainly because I didnt want to post anything nasty after the trouble’s they are having, as you have now made us aware, internally. Not that I would deliberately make a rude or nasty post… but you know what happens. ::)
I think I’ll pop over there and say hi soon.

I had to remove the link to TLR from my forum because members wanted to know from me what was going on. I don’t know anymore than they do. Until it’s up, I’m out of luck just like they are.
I happy that this on is on it’s way up. So far, it’s been a big help for me and things seem to be going better her. I’m adding the link to my forums portal for here. This is a really nice forum to look at in general.HK

Thank you for you encouragement. ;D
Remember guys, no matter what issues TLR have, are having, the Staff here at the Starport want Lancers to come back up and succeed.
Lancers were against other communinty sites a short while back, but there are some new staff members on the TLR team that agree with us when we say our FL Community can only stay strong if we are all united - this is the most positive thing to come from Lancers in a long time. And I hope in the near future these two sites can work closely together to make sure this game lives on.

I think "be patient " will stand at least for another month …
-
Sadly, we were unable to get a copy of the forum database from Turion so we’ve been forced to start from scratch –- again. You can rest assured however that the constant stream of downtime and assorted drama that has plagued TLR for the last several months has finally come to an end, and also rest easy in knowing that I am going to be pushing long and hard for frequent site backups - so that even if Crazy (our current host) were to fall victim to a speeding BMW while crossing the street that TLR would be able to continue without another four(?) month spurt of downtime.
Things are still fairly bare-bones at the moment, however we do hope to start getting things back up to speed quickly.
Lancers were against other communinty sites a short while back
A worthless and all-round idiotic attitude that is completely and entirely in the past, I can assure you. Once we’ve got things sorted out a bit more on our end of things I’m going to start pushing my communist agenda onto all of my colleagues at TLR
-
Thankfully, the world seems not to be ruled by idiots… yet.
Glad to hear that, Sion, and looking forward to more.

It would seem some individual doesnt want TLR to be reborn.
