Got problems with FLServer.exe
-
-
1st:
–- maybe try 2 use a fixed IP on your server
— try to start the client with something like “freelancer.exe -sMY_SERVER_IP:2302”And the 2nd or 3rd rule of my (software) firewall is usually to allow every traffic within the LAN.
Maybe try something like this in “Advanced Rules” or what ever it is called on your firewall
on
– the server
AND
– your client
and try again. For Freelancer i usually open UDP ports 2300-2305,6073

… here a statment of someone, who knows more:
@Lancer:
**Router port settings for LAN and WAN usage
2300, 2301 - do not do anything other than a passthough on these ports, otherwise only one computer on your LAN will be able to connect to the outside world
2302 - direct this to your server’s IP on your LAN network, this is the one of two ports you need to set to point to your server if you wish for WAN access
6073 - this is the second port you need to route to your server for it to operate properly, if you don’t set this one some users may not be able to connect, this is the port used by DirectPlay for communication betweeen copies of itself
Don’t forget to set your firewall properties to allow the server and client access to the web. With these setting users on the web should be able to access your server and you will keep your family happy since they can still play online.**
So UDP ports 2300-2302,6073 should be enough.
