Arbiter.de…

Huhu,
just wanted to ask who was the creator/owner of arbiter.de? (http://web.archive.org/web/20070806074906/http://www.arbiter.de/)
Because there you can visit the old page and we may should reconsider in reactivating the page, just an idea, what do you think about?(arbiter.de was an old TLR project)
-
One word… why?
-
Because I think it was a great page
Blabla ingame talk - “What you need a navmap? Just go to arbiter.de!” etc.
-
I really don’t see the point in this. 99% of this information is available from Soupman’s site. I’ve been hinting at a noob section on here, we could just post up some pictures, all the base names, ships weapons etc and have it all here. It would take about an hour to setup. It would save sending people to a million different sites imo.
-
Many/most? use datastorm and such-like for this no?
-
This site has had some hits since Dec 8th 2003
how true
arbiter was a TLR project?
that would have been new to meseriously you can get that info on the active FL communities… if you reactivate this one you make it even more confusing for players.
imho -
Well, I just used and referred to the page very much as I was a noob, iirc
Because it answers noob’s question very fast, and just had to spoke out the domain (not sth. like for instance, “Go to starport, then in the noob area and then thread number XYZ”)
@Fury: See the text above. You first have to install FLDS, and some ppl have problems with that (I got some errors years ago, iirc ^^)
Just my 2 cents
-
And something like “the-starport.net/gettingstarted” would be too complicated?
That’s something we’ll be able to do with The Starport 2.0
-
I would like to see something about the single player aspect
( openly ducks and glances behind ) as an addition to the Beginning player section
There is a large group of such out there – i answer enough questions about the mods from this end of the comunnity on TLR – I saw once that Disco 4.83 was downloaded like 13 or 14K times – and there isn"t that many players online so it kinda shows the extent of the single player aspect of the game
I’m not trying to ruffle feathers here but this does seem to be one of the main differences between the two sites – from my position in the cheap seats out in left field -
Yes,
Thats one of our many goals.
The new site gets a wiki, however its not a free editable wiki but gets appointed wiki editors.
If people are interested to provide content, once the new site is up and that won’t take long anymore, than they can drop a PM to either Roo, FriendlyFire or me… but preferable Roo as he is our content master. It will function like any other wiki tho.
