Hmm je this 300+ ships defenitly is not a poor moding. Someone after all have to spend hour and hours to create this ships in 3d. Me and my friends playing Discovery Mod: Reunion.

So this is or some fake hope for us or is real thing.And i support all this moder and i am hapy with game that have 300+ ships, system, etc
but what can we do with all this ships i dont know. I like to collect ship ant items, after all this is a point of an rpg game
I like x2, x3 special x3 terran conflict. Terran conflict have the same flight control like FL an fight is hard and exciting but there is no MP., but to be perfect games they need multiplaying. The only mana i can found in FL is nonexistance of ship garage.So i hope that we will see this one day.

It is not presently possible to ‘own’ more than one ship in Freelancer.
The 300+ Ships is generally an attempt to make up for poor modding everywhere else as far as I’m concerned. 10-20 new ones would be adequate if you could do anything but model as well.Sorry to say but that’s complete balls. Since when has too many ships equalled bad modding in any area? Variety is the spice of life. Look at WTS, Nightstalkers Universe and Sushi’s SW-ToW, is that going to be crap too because there are loads of ships in it? Of course not. The issue here is bad modders make bad mods, that simple. If you take the time and learn the craft, or work in a talented team, then excellent results can be produced, no question of that, regardless of how many ships there are
And as to the original question, owning more than one ship, make a new char, problem solved. Unless you mean more than one at a time…

Such a “garage” would be possible with a personal restart command in flhook. The downside to this is that every time you would grab a different ship you would be disconnected.
Other downside is the maintenance, flhook would have to create some folder structure to store every players personal ships.Every player allready has its own folder in the multiplayer mappings from FL, but a simple file where all the ships are listed have to be created, flhook reads the file and graps the right ship/setup. I wonder how this will coop with lag issues etc.
And if one of the FLhook dev’s is willing to create such a feature. -
Yes, i think to have more than one ship per character, But still must use one ship to fly, not all of them.
Lets say like this. I play FL with my friends on our server and we just found good trade route and we all have fighter and now i must buy this frighter and then when we finished this lets say JOB i must sell this ship to buy again fighter for next mission and so on. Do we see point of this, instend of i go in the base or big parking Lets call’it leave my ship and change it for frighter fully equiped and redy to fly in 20 sec and when job is done i come back and change again frighter into fighter fully equiped, ready to combat in 20 sec, or i dock into station i must go to se ship
dealer then i must think what to buy, then when equipmen dealer etc.
It is loot of down time instand of playing.
You dont have to buy new weapons gear and so on. It is hard to program but if any one can a whole communuty will be very happy.This i a big feature and for rpg style of playing GOD feature.
I dont know until then we must be pleased whit this game.

Does it really matter that I think 80% of the mods churned out by the FL community are complete and utter crap? No…
Will you guys get up on your high horses about it and work yourselves into a frenzy? Very Probably Yes…Oh yeah, and the comment was actually directed at a few mods that do exactly what I described. I won’t mention who, unless I’m feeling really antagonistic, which I’m not.

Darn shame about the pearl stuff not being finished… he had some great ideas over there… I trawled though to whole lot looking for any form of download… lol… yeah, darn shame

Where exactly am I digging to? Expulsion from a community for which I could care less? I occasionally check the community sites in the hope that there might be something that benefits my personal projects, but there rarely is. Most of the material out there is junk a 5 year old with FLE could make.

so i had to jump (as is my nature)…now could someone find that guy that had those great ideas… and give him a large cup of inspiration?? some of what he was planning would definitely better FL… maybe get him into Hook coding… i dunno… but we need more dreamers like that…

No, I’ve done the THN that allows display of it, but haven’t figured out how to get the market screen to take extra buttons.
And In answer to previous posts, it’s just an Opinion. What I think of the FL Community and the mods that come out of it probably isn’t relevant, yet you continue to get fairly worked up about it. One issue I thought I might raise is that this place is afraid to Criticise

This is similar to the whole Cold void situation again. I think we should stop this RIGHT now, or at least take it to PM’s, this guy has asked a question and it’s starting to turn into a Flame war, what is the point of it?
Anyway, would it be possible to store the ship ‘garage’ client side, and use say a .*FL file to store the data, much like in SP to load a game. Then there’s the issue of cheating, which I suppose you could use a hashcode or something like that to see if the file has been changed whist the character hasn’t be connected to the server, if it has then delete the character…

m0tah found the hex values for it but its heavily bugged out… so far its still impossible

Can FLHook change client files as well?

I have not seen or heard of an FLHook version which modifies client files…
I personally would consider such tools a violation of my privacy, who knows what such a program could be accessing - not like I don’t trust FLHook developers, but I’m sure closed source plugins may prove a problem…

Eh…maybe then this is possible, familiar to my idea about the multiple ships per character…
(Via command some client files get overwritten, so for instance “/viewships #2” etc. pp.)

Thanks guys on all thinks. I hope that one good coder in the community now relise the real need of players and that
we will see one day mod or somethink that will give us more ship per character. And this thing about moding and
other thing here, what some people write, it is not a problem. If you don’t give some rispect on other work, they won’t respect your either.
This is normal thay you allways found one or two that are the best and that they think that are the smartiest, bether than all other people. But that kind of people must know that allways is someone smarter and better and etc. then they.This subject is closed. Thanks on your post, good or bad.
