Server problems

If you didn’t do this already, disable the mod you are using and just add the Global List Server workaround patch, and try to connect to a plain FL server.
If it works, the mod bad - redownload the mod.
But - If even plain FL doesn’t work, then temporarily disable both your anti-virus program and your firewall at the same time, and try it yet again.
If it works then enable one at a time to find out which one is causing the problem.
If it does not work with both disabled, I am out of my depth - I have XP.

That means your FL install is either corrupted or you still have a mod activated.
Try firing FLMM up and looking for Tools -> Restore Backups and try again.

Uninstall the Mod Manager period. Next, be sure that you have the right Mod Mannager that the mod uses. Most mods are activated with the 1.31 FLMM and not the 1.41 or, the 1.51 of which is new.
Install it again. That done, delete every mod in it until there are none left. Close it.
Uninstall Freelancer. Delete the folder in you MyDocs named My Games. Shut down your PC and restart it. Reinstall Freelancer.
First try using the workaround without any mods installed then see if you can see the severs listed on the list and that all the 1.0 server are blue/gray. If they are, try to connect to one of them at random but of one with the lowest ping. If you are successful, log off the server then out of the game.
Find the mod you want to use, open the FLMM, install it and the Global Server Workaround if the mod you’re using doesn’t already have it in the mod. (discovery comes with it so…it’s not needed and be sure to deactivate it if you are going to use the disco mod) Activate the mod then the workaround. If Freelancer the game doesn’t work then, I can’t really say what’s wrong other than, keep trying.
If it’s the Discovery 4.85 mod you’re trying to get to work, your best bet is to go to http://discoverygc.com and find out from there what you need to do in order to get the mod to work correctly. They created it, they have all the answers. They’ll be better able to assist you more with this mod.
I used Zone in the past and had no problem running the game or the server at all.
Good luck player. I hope this helps?

One other thing, do not install the GLS workaround with Discovery. Discovery includes all (most) of the Discovery servers automatically so you don’t need the work around.
FYI:
- Crazy’s workaround is completely compatible.
- Wodka’s workaround is not because the flmod package overwrites the dacom.ini file. If you manually add the dll to the dacom.ini then it works too.

I don’t think I mentioned anything about it not being compatible with mods as a whole, I just advised not to use it with Disco as you followed with if, you’re directing this, “FYI” at me.
I will say that Crazy’s does not work with the mod I’m working on because I have W0dk4’s incorporated in my mod and it works fine. I can’t see anyone using another workaround if a mod already has it. o_O

I don’t think Crazy’s and w0dk4’s workarounds are mutually exclusive, but it’s a lot more likely that w0dk4’s may need more tweaking than Crazy’s, which is just changing a line in freelancer.ini.

Most mods today contain a workaround of some kind anyway. It’s only the Vanilla servers where you need to use them now.
I use a Direct Connect Tool anyway so, if I want to connect to any server, workaround or not, I can as long as I have the correct IP and port.
Added edit: I use Crabtree’s DCST and with the servers IP and Port added in it, I double click and the only server I see is the one I’m intending on game on. No need for the others unless I have an interest it them. When I want to view them all, I deactivate the mod/s and activate the v0.9 GSWA and I can see all the servers.
