Game stopping when minimized

Is there any way to make the game keep running when you minimize it or, in windowed mode, focus on other windows?
I would like to play FL and do other stuff at the same time, like using msn.

In fact, in MP you usually die if you minimise it when you are in space.

Duhhh… Why would you ever want to minimise FL???!!!

I alt-tab out of the game very often to check boards and stuff and have never had a problem. Start a 100km flight and when I come back my ship is patiently waiting at the Warp Station. Both on Win2k and WinXP.

Same here, never had a crash while minimised. Only time i die is if i’m dumb enough to arrive in an area full of pirates lol

Indeed, im talking about offline single player.
It doesnt crash, it just pauses but without the pause screen. When i come back to the game it goes on as if nothing happened.

Like DwnUndr, i want to be able to send my ship on a half-hour trip and alt-tab to check boards, chat on msn and other real life stuff.

No idea how i could solve this?

I’m afraid the logic thread in single player stops when out of focus. Unless adoxa or M0tah have some savoury hack that disables this “feature”, you’re probably out of luck

There might be a hack for this, may be somewhere near call of SinglePlayer() in F1 routine that was hacked recently 'cause like with alt-tab the game pauses in F1 menu when in SP and continues when in MP.

FL Hack has an option to disable pause on Alt+Tab, as well as allowing you to save in space. (Added in 1.40, before I joined here.)
