Last one is cool and compact

Heheheh…
Sol, you never cease to amaze me!
Still watching you from time to time.
Excellent - but I think your other half must hate you?
-
Cheers guys hands a cold beer to each person in the topic
Haha, well StarTrader, the reason why I have the time to make so many models lately is because that other half you’re talking about has moved to another solar system so it’s all me and myself right now :))Speaking of, I’d like your input on this model I’m working, a mobile shipyard. It’s supposed (in my twisted universe) to be able to move around and jump from system to system like a normal ship would and it can build other smaller ships or various space objects. From my point of view the ship is pretty much done as it is but still, if you guys can think of some other modules I can add to it to make it look more industrial or more fitting for the task at hand please let me know and I’ll see if I can integrate your ideas in the design.

Thanks.

well Sol, good job as usual. Nice looking model.
one thing i would do, is to add some type of clamps on the top to hold ships or other space objects in place while they are being constructed/repaired so that the object does not ‘float’ away.
other than that, i like it
-
Great suggestion J. !
I added 2 large arms on the sides of the ship to act as clamps and they look great -
Just thinking aloud here…
When I see models in drab military colours like camouflage, I wonder whether if in future there will be any military at all, since they have no money and corporations are taking over the space exploration role now.
So how would a cruiser in Branston colours look, taking a hint from his space flight vehicle? Any texturers ready for a laugh and a few hours of fantasy?
-
… and from there, given that tourism and flaunting of wealth are in order, the space stations may well be more civilian follies than blocks of functional dwellings. How about a station with suites of space penthouses with huge view panels, and bubble mansions?
Just prompting those with the skills!

Hey Sol, that is so nice.
Now - put one into Virgin colours and one in Branston pickle colours, and we’ll send a copy of both to Richard, maybe he can think about funding one as his next space project!!
-
You mean like this ?
Oh boy I sure hope Richard likes it :)))))) -
Heheheh… Wow!!
Yep, that sure is a superb, great-looking ship there, Sol!!
I would be delighted to put that into a mod, hopefully someone will?
Can’t wait for the Branston pickle, if you feel like it?
That could also lead to a Colman’s mustard one, a Hellmann’s Mayo one, and other hot stuff! rofl
-
Its homeword like?
-
Now that you mention it, it does seem to fit really well in that game, cool
StarTrader, for the moment I’ll stop at Virgin radio, the others are too extreme :)))))

Hey guys.
If you have time, I’d really appreciate if you could help me out with a short background story for this model I’m working on. It is a battleship based on the latest XI capital ship concept art from RSI and I will also be texturing it but after I finish some of my other work.
If you feel like helping me out with the story, please feel free to incorporate whatever elements you wish, such as where it was built, who is using it and how, etc., the kind of stuff you usually see in my short stories.
