Portable FL?
-
Here’s the thing. I just recently got a brand new 4GB pen (USB) drive, and I was wondering if I could play FL off it. Considering the FL folder itself is just 1.5 GB in size, that shouldn’t matter. The problem is that FL makes a bunch of folders in the registry, and in My Documents.
As for mods, I can always do it the old fashioned way and just copy the files straight into FL.
Any help, please?

Cant see why not… apart from the obvious legal reasons (lol)
FL only really uses the documents for savegames… easyly replaceable…
I dont “think” it makes any reg entrys that “matter”… Ive copyed it to other PC’s in my lan with my mod activated with 0 problems… even packed it all down for a tester who was well and trully stuck (he had FL… but his disk was beyond repair)…But… you didn’t hear any of the above from me… lol

Well, your MP ID is stored in your registry. And btw, doesn’t FLMM works with USB drives? You might have to correct the FL directory path, but that’s maybe it is.

Biggest issue will indeed be the MPID, which is stored in the registry. Each time you change computers, you’d have to move your MPID around.
Otherwise, singleplayer would require you to move savegames around and the graphics/sound/control settings will have to be swapped too.

Dunno but…might it be possible to run WinE with an USB Stick? Could this one work?

Yeah, but don’t forget that then the next computer user can use your FL MP ID.
PLUS, even if you cahnge your ID via an application there is no difference: The id will get written into the registry.
