Help me please

I’ve been having some problems with freelancer, and their being a pain, at the moment i am getting a ctd every time i start up freelancer.exe just before getting to the main menu, the error message says that common.dll is having the problem at offset 0x00091eb8. i have reinstalled freelancer and i still get the error, so any help would be appreciated before this sends me mad

Have you tried deleting your Freelancer folder under My documents\My Games?

are you using a mod? this always works for me if you use mods deactivate them go into your c drive and delete your freelancer folder then delete the my games folder in your documents. that done run cc cleaner or what ever you use then run a registery cleaner. then reinstall freelancer that should work. usually dll errors come from mods that dont work also if you are using the vista demon run freelancer and the mod manager in admin status. use these tips you should be fine.

The problem was that FL creates everytime it gets started the restart.fl, if this file doesn’t exist. It is some kind of a savegame which FL loads after the splash screen. Information like reputations and factions and so on are stored in it. Thus, if you start FL without having the mod activated, it just can’t find those things in your FL directory which leads to the crash.
