Frobozz here. Admin of Lansdale Gaming since oh… '04 …I guess.
I’d like to ask a question. I was running a stock server, until a bout a month ago. Didn’t do so well so to spice things up I changed the server to Evolutions 1.28 mainly because I know the mod so well (it was the first mod we hosted when it was released) and it’s available here on Starport’s DL section. Plus I just enjoy it so. It’s not been a great success, to say the least. So… I’m just wondering what mod people think that might get some actual players? Other than Discovery, I’m not going to run that one and the market is flooded for it anyways.

Anyways, as for your question, there are many mods out there that you could have a go at. I’d suggest 88 flak for its emphasis on combat and gameplay while staying quite similar to vanilla. There’s also Itano Circus that’s really nice. Otherwise, Nightstalker’s Universe is a good choice if flak and Itano aren’t your style.
I’m not sure, but you can also ask WTS World, New Universe, UnderVerse, XLR or Asylum 51 if they share their mods for other servers to use.

Well, I am very sure that at least 88 Flak as well as Itano Circus will give you permission to hots the mod, mainly because I know the opinion from the makers about sharing software. I am not sure if it has changed, but if not 88 Flak might be interested into a stable server. It was been a while when I read about it and I never played by myself the modification, but it was said that the server was unfortunally “a bit” laggy. No offense intended, -

Say hiya! Yes, LDG is still around tho most of the old regulars don’t play FL anymore, only I do it seems. Not seen otto in a long time, I host the server now but otto’s pal still hosts our forums. I’ll have to try out some of those mods, I do see you host 88 flak files here on Starport so I guess I’ll start there.

You need nightstalkers permission to host his mod as it dosnt come with any of the server files;p

Well what do I know… I really thought MU preferred not distributing the mod to other servers while NU did distribute them.
Oh well, shows how much time I have to try out the mods

Well… Thanks for the help guys but since our forum has gone AWOL once again, I guess that I should just leave the server with Evolutions mod for now, on the server list as:
