HardCMP and Quad Cores

Hi, I’m using XP and a Quad Core with affinity set to CPU-0 for HardCMP, but I can’t run HardCMP.

Well, yes, the program starts. It opens in a white background (normaly is black), but it crashes as soon as I try to open any cmp or 3db file.

HardCMP version is, as allways, 1.0.0.23.

Any suggestions?

my processor is a i5 750
so a quad core, and hardcmp 1.0.0.23 works fine
no need to specify an affinity but it also works
so it’s difficult to help you …

no antivirus who prevents the execution of hardcmp ?

its a problem of graphics support/hardware (open GL specifically).
i have that issue, too, therefore have to use 1.0.0.18. the *.23 uses an updated gfx engine that is not supported by some chips and similar.

Me too, I am also forced to use v18. I have built-in Intel Extreme Graphics GM/GME. I have to live with it.

Any idea of where to get it from? The link at the downloads section (http://the-starport.net/modules/wfdownloads/singlefile.php?cid=2&lid=16) takes me to a corrupted file. I can download it, but not install it.

Or directly attach the setup in a e-mail to [email protected]

The engine Colin used when he upgraded HardCmp requires your graphics card/chipset to have full OpenGL support built into it, and most Intel chipsets only have the basic support built into them.

The version of Freelancer Explorer that came out at the same time uses this engine for some of it’s newer features, so expect it to crash on you as well.
