Unused .sur's

Hey,

I was wondering what people know about some of the extra sur’s that are in a freelancer installation. These include:

freight_car.sur
freight_train.sur
freight_train_cargo.sur
and,
li_battleship.sur

They all throw up errors when decoding them with surdump and importing them into milkshape. I am mainly curious as i wanted to see the basic shape of the liberty battleship.

Liberty Battleship = Osiris. Battleship Unity uses the Osiris model with Liberty textures, which makes it a Liberty Battleship. Also its said in the storyline that the Osiris was stolen from the Liberty Navy.

I would really like to see what is this “train_car”, if its a part of the train or smt ealse.

in the mission to capture ashcroft the battleship unity guards the jumpgate to colorado. i often enogh flew around the warship and its definately a liberty dreadnought mesh, not an osiris class.

As I remember, there weren’t those 2 little wings that make the differ between those models. It doesn’t really matter, lets get back to the subject.

Sorry but Osiris design was stolen by the ORDER so, Unity is a liberty dreadnought.

Freelancer itself won’t load those surs (they’re in an old format). Since there’s no corresponding cmp/3db, it doesn’t matter. The next version of JFLP will delete them. (I just have to stop saying it and start doing it…)

The fright_car was probably one of these ‘cars’ where the train’s cargo pods are attached to.
