Hack Request: Engine Performance reduction on nozzel destruction.

Hey,
Thought i’d come back into a little bit of freelancer modding (again), and this thought came accross my mind. What if when an engine nozzel is destroyed, engine performace is decreased by a set amount? From memory, freelancer already stops the engines from working when all nozzels are destroyed, so maybe we could get this to work.

What if when an engine nozzel is destroyed, engine performace is decreased by a set amount?You could get this to work by making the engine use power, and by adding shields with 0 shield but + <somevalue>power regeneration to the engine hps. so when one engine is destroyed, you have less power for the engine. Using this method you could let ships have an invisible nozzle (so that the engine is still working), so that you could still fly it back hame (slowly) when all regular nozzles are destroyed.
Problem: You can’t have weapons that use power…at least you shouldn’t have.

Yeah alright, i get your point about strafing. But i would still want to see engine performance decreased when a nozzel is destroyed, and i think the idea of utilising power wouldn’t work in this case since i am already using power as a key factor in other aspects (think thrusters, sheilds, armor and other items.)
I think this would be best acheived through a plugin, what do you think?
