Vanilla anticheat
-
If your server is truly vanilla, the only equipment (ship) buying that I’m aware of that’s identified as a cheat is when a player attempts to purchase a ship while already in the ship they’re attempting to purchase.
This was commonly observed when players tried to rebuy Titans in order to get the level 8 Grav shield which was not normally available for purchase in game.
The only solution I’m aware of is for the player to purchase a different ship first before attempting to rebuy the ship they want.
What equipment are you attempting to purchase that’s being identified as possible cheating? Give us the setup and the circumstances.
One other thing that causes that error to trip… If the player has a different monetary value for the item they’re buying than the server. For example: The server thinks the item is 150,000 creds but the player’s files have the item set at 10creds.
And, another scenario… The player’s ship is modded to a level beyond what the server thinks it should be. ie. Player files have the hammerhead modded to mount level 10 weapons but the server still has the HH at level 9.
We need more info to figure out just what’s causing the error.

The vanilla anti-cheat is very minimal. Really, the only thing I’ve seen it do is nail somebody for attempting to purchase something that’s not specified on the server. Near as I can tell, there are very few cheats you can’t run on a vanilla server even with the 1.1 update installed. Most cheats have to either be modded out of the server or countered by using tools such as IFSO, FLAC, FLHook, or other similar tools.
I guess the point I’m trying to make is that you’re trying to disable something that really isn’t preventing you from doing anything the server could support anyway. Even if you tried to log into the server with a ship or weapons the server didn’t offer, the server wouldn’t be able to support it. So, in those cases, the server is only preventing you from crashing it anyway.
What mods/cheats specifically are you trying to run that FL is stopping?
If you’re trying to mount level 10 equipment on a starflier or carry a million cargo in a rhino, the easiest way to permit that would be to go into your shiparch.ini file and just add those capabilities on the server side. Then you would be able to mod your client any way you like. For the li_freighter for example, make the hold = 1,000,000 and add the appropriate lines to increase the weapons rating. It’s much easier to make a server permit cheats than to prevent it from blocking cheats…

Use the v1.0 version, not the MS v1.1 patch.
To find which one you have, look in the Freelancer\EXE folder and if you see a file CheatMessage.txt then you have the 1.1 patch.
