Docking problems
-
Right here’s my problem. Ive just recently made a custom base model all animated up etc and have the hitbox working all fine and dandy.
But the problem is when i go to dock with it, i come in at a really stupid path nothing like ive set the Hardpoints to do.
heres what i mean.
Path wanted

The above picture is the path i would like to go.
But when i hit dock i end up coming in from this angle and get stuck in a loop of flying around in circles

now im pretty sure i aint screwed up the hardpoints. 1 Docking mount inside the docking area with 2 Points leading upto the dock.
any ideas on what the problem is would be muchly appreciated thanks.

Could it be a problem with Solararch.ini? I recall having a similar problem and I think it might have been related to the object’s solararch entry. It might also be that FL is case-sensitive about hardpoint names and can’t find the HpDockMount and HpDockPoints, getting confused in the process.

We had a similar problem when incorporating the Armored Transports. I think we fixed it by moving the docking points out a little further.

Are you sure you placed the dock mounts right?
Accessable place in the SUR, 3 points: HpDockMount(A,B,C…), HpDockPoint(A,B,C…)01 and HpDockPoint(A,B,C…)02; Each one farther then the other.Next, did you set the dockable range in the INI file?
Example:docking_sphere = berth, HpDockMountA, 4.5, Sc_open dock1
(in solar range units, “m” for in-game)
Check out the CMP file for Hardpoints, and bring us the INI entry of the station (solararch.ini) to check.

Are all the Hard Points rotated correctly, they should all point the same way - at the docking bay
had the same problem myself

I’ll stick a reply on here for him since he’s on Aussie time. He got it fixed, the thick bugger forgot to untick the number prefix in hardCMP when he was doing the HPs, so his .ini’s and CMP hardpoints didn’t match. XD
