How to run DB_Hash_CRC_Calc and FL_Error_Chkr in Win7
-
Both DB_Hash_CRC_Calc and FL_Error_Chkr render the same error message when I tried to run them (and yes I did run as administrator):
The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail
-
I have no idea where to find the application event log
-
When I run the command-line sxstrace.exe it opens and closes again well within half a second
The dear reader will already anticipate my obvious question: how can I get these proggies to work??
(If I’m not mistaken, LancerSolurus created both tools, so I especially hope he’ll be reading this. Of course I’ll be happy with anybody’s help!)
Thanx in advance!

You need to install the DLL pack from 2010

I feared you were gone for good. How’s your game project going?

Btw there’s no readme or documentation…
I run Win7 x64. Can I just install the DLL pack safely?
Please not that is a rhetorical question as I just installed it I do not smell burnt rubber or plastic - I do smell my pizza tho. Report back after dinner.

NP, the game is coming along nicely. Currently rebuilding the global server and server software that I lost in the HD crash. Also recently added support for parallax occlusion mapping.
If you wish to test the first alpha release, it can be downloaded from the following forum page

Also the Wiki has been updated to reflect that version

Back. Here are my finds, in ascending order of importance:
1. My pizza was nice. A simple over pizza from Dr. Oetker, with pieces of chicken on it,
2. FL_Error_Checker and DB_Hash_CRC_Calc work!! At least, they open. At the moment I have no job for it, so I can’t test it, but I have no reason to believe they won’t. (I have to be in bed with an hour, and have other stuff to do so can’t test atm.)
