FLMM 1.31 will not run in Win 7
-
Uhh, I can’t help you if the program itself isn’t running, but on W7 it’s a very very good idea to have FL and FLMM installed somewhere OTHER than Program Files. Such as My Documents, or even just a folder on a harddrive.
Hopefully this helps, even if it doesn’t help with your current problem.

I use Vista 64-bit, what seems to work is using “Run As Administrator” when I right-click the shortcut.

With Win7, when you install FLMM you’ll need to right-click on the setup.exe for FLMM and choose the ‘run as administrator’ option in the context menu.
If you’re going to install the SDK or the JFLP you’ll need to do it that way as well.

i’m having problems wit it telling me, everytime i try to activate a mod, that the mod would not properly activate. It does this with every mod i try to install, plus the ones that came with the manager. I dont know why, and it’s starting to frustrate me. Please help.

Vista, Win 7 and Win 8 all have the same problem. Microsoft. and permissions.
The easiest way to cope is to install Freelancer ‘outside’ of the parts of windows that are controlled by permissions, i.e. to c:\freelancer. Same with any other program like FLMM.
These still need to be installed and opened for use as ‘admin’ (right click them).
FLMM 1.3 is the preferred version and happily works on all versions of windows if installed and used correctly.

I have it running on Win7 64bit without issues. Like DwnUndr says, Install it on a different drive if you have yours partitioned, right click on the main flmm exe and run it in compatibility mode for XP, and as administrator. Should work fine, if it doesn’t, make sure you have administrator priveliges on your user account to start with
