Changing the targeting cross hair
-
oh wow, so the targeting is linked to the font color… I guess that makes things… easier? Also, no wonder I couldn’t find anything other than the arrows in buttontextures.txm…
JIC RGB values are not one’s strong suit… here’s the color references found in that rich_font.ini (will have to use Bini to decompile and edit the .ini)

how to do it.
1. download Tiny Hexer.
2. install and open it
3. using Tiny Hexer, find and open your freelancer.exe
4. double click on the Fl Colours.mps file. (which will now auto open with tiny hexer, make sure you open it after you open your freelancer.exe)
(a box will appear with all the editable colours)
5. go crazy with it until you are happy.
6. press save on the box that comes up.
7. press save in Tiny Hexer.
done. start freelancer and observer your colour changes.

Or, If you open the mirkes.de/tiny hexer folder in program files, assuming that’s where you installed it, you’ll find a folder called scripts. Drop Fl Colors.lng and Fl Colors.mps into that folder then the script is available from tools/scripts menu in tiny hexer.

just a small message this time, don’t know what happened to the wireless yesterday. Please accept my thanks for your help et al.
Hey, these tips from above were just like we imagined. After several hours of browsing, jumping from one terminal to the other, testing, scratching one’s head etc have we got that applet running. But it cannot do what we wanted, namely changing the colours from the message-, info- and all else boards on-screen. They’re all blue and no cloud on the canopy. Could maybe someone please tell us how to go about that then?
Yeah, it’s all code and you really can get lost, especially when you don’t know what the specific file is, something with hud probably. So if anyone has an idea so would you mind giving us a cue svp?
… only that, without a solution i cannot continue, though there would be other questions about add-ons and stuff. First though allow yourself a beverage at the bar.
Was this now average small talk? hope the transmitting gets at least a friendly alien.

Hi there once more, me knows that a quick reply to already two nice jokers here should have cleared the original post somewhat up a bit. To be honest, found and hauled a keg of Sidewinder Fang on deck, so you might guess how the day got out of control. Ow, and i lost it again on a pirate base, Those freebooters got fairly out of their minds. Here is a screenshot from Freelancer Discovery 4.85 Unknown Sector what illustrates what me’d like to change:
You’ll perceive that main interaction window where the deep blue rims and corners are too bright for the monitor. What you think, would there be a lil sleight-of-hands to give those another tinge? vanilla is burning an instant artefact so to say on that prototype crystal ball. Appreciate your consideration, ta & t’ra.
Smileys? you row.

Have installed that Discovery Add-On because we were just in Leeds, Siriussystem, barely escaped from Liberty and what shall i tell? apart from incredible things happening from there on, the screen appears to be remaining alright now. Some more, the distance from the Rattlesnake to the jumphole is on my radar 4.2km, just say’n’. Do not forget nanobots later, me stupid and setting waypoints (try that out for a new idea)
…could you play your own music?? 'kay, okay, snatch me that ship’s piano (accordeon) Spaceeeeen

Hiye there and a shout from
how sphinks are going as a matter of wandering? rhetorically speeching. Splendiferous, ahh shu’ up spell-checkor, this sounds peculiarly weird enough, you station personnel…and cracking up nimbulus clowneys, hocus-pocus. You know that other PotC-Mod Forum where I registered on Wednesday methinks, wrote that lil letter a day later with a side-splitting effect and on Friday the Firteenth that went-unheard-of wreaking havoc occured; with then no further lessons learned. And here you might catch drunken freak-stylors. Thanks again to both posters, that was rather comical. But what troll has thought of crushing all three posts from us, hé? The apes on Gibraltar Prime are strolling with a paperbrella from one terrific tourist to anuwwer. Ya, all other indigenous natives there are huddling behind a Windows-sPain’, lo-ol. Ow, byHawaij, this grey-bluish background doesn’t go too well on the sensors, whahh.
Effe this, nonchalantly, by-the-by, rather quickly -ya. sort of- and without much effort tha’ is, a burst of a hyperlight of most probably having installed a somewhat functioning Mod (how do you start searching for Freeport-7 so that you can meet with Lonnigan? have no idea atoll, neither is it to be found in Sigma-17) via FLMM eh thingey -nice one, Sushy- ooh-wowzy, what’s that then? the unpacked files mind, are settling there automatically, storyline loaded from the original and starflies, the space-dinghy. Could have been a mess for all they know. That couch from Councellor Troy is somersaulting loik.
Or are those tealish, turquoise bleeps rats and frogs on the emerald dish -esque? wo? fiendly rockets omitting galatical silliness …Bring’em on, no sweats, nor clouds in the early day drinks. About to check Console.dll for a proper experiment later and maybe more boats, hmm, yeah, right. So, effe a push of several knoobs for a Kaffee Hag and a you-name-it, hoyé.

0F85 --> 90E9 freelancer.exe 0ED5B9 M0tah remove HUD elements on objects in space - includes text, brackets, targeting reticles, and missile warnings ```Makes job, but breaks the brackets to arrow switch at 2.5 K! Any solution to correct this? [http://youtu.be/xFptI0IiVAs](http://youtu.be/xFptI0IiVAs) Or maybe if this exists:
8601 --> 0000 freelancer.exe 0F045B adoxa show aiming lead on everything
2A01 --> 0000 freelancer.exe 0EC288 adoxa show aiming lead on all ships[d]show[/d] **hide** aiming lead … also does!?

I have a question regarding this.
I memory serves, the color is done as mentioned above, but isn’t the actual reticle a graphic?
If this is so, a graphic could be substituted which would allow for contrasting color segments of the reticle.
For instance the lines would be double (e.g. two pixels) and one line would be solid and the other not and possibly offset a little.
Just a thought.

So it is not actually a cursor? Is there a way to control the thickness of the lines?
Another idea that would be good, would be to have the reticle change colors against the background. It is annoying when one has to search for the cursor against backgrounds such as Kusari

@sumanuti: Turns out all you had to do was make it transparent (i.e. set alpha [the [b]A of ABGR] to 00).
Dynamically changing the color is a bit much, but turns out it can use two colors, anyway.
Freelancer.exe 0F20A4 33C08AC10F->BF <bbggrraa>= crosshair color PART 1 ("inner") ~adoxa Freelancer.exe 0F20A9 B6FEC1E708->BB <bbggrraa>= crosshair color PART 2 ("outer") ~adoxa Freelancer.exe 0F20AE 0FB6CD0B->33F6EB18 = crosshair color PART 3 ~adoxa Freelancer.exe 0F216C 2.0f = crosshair horizontal thickness ~adoxa Freelancer.exe 0F21BD 2.0f = crosshair vertical thickness ~adoxa</bbggrraa></bbggrraa> ```This edit will override the color in Fl Colors.
