Crashing Flash on our Front Page

Can somebody confirm this?

When I use Chrome, most times I visit our front page, the flash plugin crashes. I confirmed this on two different computers, however it might be due to a Chrome plugin.

Does anybody else have this behaviour?

Same here, this is the only site it crashes on though, youtube works fine…

Oh I thought it was our random video player thing, but apparently it isnt.

Any ideas on what causes it?

Perhaps it’s one of the many embedded videos in the news that’s misbehaving.

I’ve had same problem for 2 months. I thought my shockwave player is wrong but it is not.

Chrome 16.0.912.77 on Ubuntu 11.04. It used to happen a few months ago.

It happens sometimes. It’s apparently something to do with flash, since when its disabled the site runs fine.

Yeah, I made a thread about this a few months back, the answer I got was to use Flashblock, haven’t had an issue since.

Guys, its because most of you probably have flash installed separately for other browsers, thing is chrome has one built into it and both get activated causing issues, all you need do is disable one of them via chromes options.

This doesn’t help the majority however.

Its less of a problem on Opera.

The only problem with Firefox is that it seems to frequently crash the flash plug-in when seeking on videos (such as You tube) It will just turn white with a gray explanation mark in a triangle - the universal symbol for broken lol.

But, you can’t seek on these videos manually so it doesn’t affect it, however I would probably say a lot use chrome, might be best to look at the statistics for visitations and see what everyone is using…

It only got bad since version 11, version 10 was free of bugs, some people have downgraded the flash they use to the latest stable version of it.

I don’t know what happened to it really…
