Milkshape Exporting
-
I don’t know if this has been brought up before, but whenever I try to export a modified vanilla ship into cmp format I get a bunch of messed up lines and shapes whenever I reload it. It’s kind of annoying and a hindrance to my mod. Any help would be great! Thx in advance!

Okay, I checked out the page you gave me but it still isn’t making sense or working. To be honest I’m not that good with milkshape or modeling in general, all I was doing was changing some texture colors. One thing that might help is that I’m not even getting the lines anymore, when I try to import my modified ship I just get a box that says it encountered an “improper argument”. I really need to get to the bottom of this. Thx for any more help you can give me.

There are several exporters, two of them do this (crazy lines with vertices miles away from the model).
I can’t remember but I think P1p3r’s one also does this from time to time, and there are some hardpoints it can’t handle and crashes.
To save you some time, here are both P1p3r’s Importer and his Exporter from my Milkshape folder, unzip them into you Milkshape root folder and remove or rename the old ones you have.
I think they are the latest version but it’s worth doublechecking if you still get problems.

Okay I put both of the files you gave me into Milkshape’s folder, replacing the ones that I already had. Now I have a new problem (shocker), I don’t even see the new importer/exporter in the import/export menus. The files are in the right spot but when I’m in milkshape it’s like their not even there. Not really sure what I should do next…

Guess what? The importer works fine now, but the exporter still isn’t showing up. Got anymore ideas?

Not sure what to suggest, sorry.
Anyone else can help?

I use www.fileswap.com, they promise it is permanent (but only time will tell) and you can upload files there for free and anyone can download them for free and no sign-up, and you can get more free storage capacity just by creating a free, no-strings account.

Sry, StarTrader, atm MediaFire seems better IMO. Files are accessible (only needed captcha this time) and files are not deleted. Fileswap does delete files if they are not downloaded around 6 months at all (I get a warning to save this files - see attachment) and download speed is limited - so not recommended for bigger files.
Dropbox is still best (forgot pass for it) with seems no ads and rest annoying things, but who knows for how long.

Keep in mind that with last Pip3r’s exporter, the Root group (Main group) in MS has to be named with the same name as it will be exported to .cmp. Otherwise I got an error that parameters (i think) is incorrect!
