Mission 5 and the Sprague Gate
-
Evening all,
I have a quick question that will hopefully solve a problem I’ve had for days.
Juni and I get to Sprague, kill off the Rhinelanders and make our break for the gates. Juni tells me to go first and literall as soon as I enter the gate I’m back on my desktop.
I run Vista 64 and the Mysteries of the Nebula SP mod. 3D sound is unchecked and I was looking for ideas for where to start looking for the problem and a possible solution or two.
Any ideas? As always thanks for your help…

Just adding my Windows Exception msg - it has crashed on me 5 times now in the same spot. All 5 are identical and name server.dll as the culprit. Since I’m playing in SP mode would I have a server running?

I assume when you say make your run for the gates you’re trying to use the docking ring to land on planet Sprague? If so then definitely a problem with the base files, but you’re using a mod which makes it hard to give you an answer and also a mod I’ve never heard of.

Yep, mod problem - contact the modders who wrote it.

The mod replaces the dig site with a ship dealer (guess it was only intended for OpenSP) - since the dig site doesn’t exist, it crashes. A workaround is to restore the original DATA\UNIVERSE\SYSTEMS\BW01\BASES\bw01_01_base.ini (swap it with the *.flmmbak file), complete the mission, then swap the files back.

Sorry for the absence folks - I had a Vt (ventricular tachycardia) that left me, or rather my heart, running in full afterburner (194 bpm heart rate) for four days. You’ve never lived until you been shocked by a full blown defib unit. But it works, cardiac inversion I think the process is called - this time my heart inverted on the first shock. I slept for 24 hours straight after that.
Now I’m back home and raring to play Freelencer. Are there any really good single-player mods still hanging about out there. I don’t have unfettered access to the web (shared internet) - for now I’m not totally in love with Open Single Player, but if you have good suggestions for when I reach that stage - post’em.

@Timmy51 - you are correct the docking ring is what I meant. As food for thought, my crash occurs the very instant my ship enters the docking gates in the short video thet runs everytime you dock on a planet.
@adoxa - thank you for all the little proggies you wrote and most importantly, kept. I’m still fighting with JFLP _1_2 patch - only the JFLP series of patches does this to me. I will also give your your ini suggestion a shot - do I really have to put the modded ini back if the old one works?
I’m going to head off and kill some bad guys, then go to bed - maybe.

You should put the modded one back if you intend to keep playing beyond the story.
As for JFLP, dunno why that would be causing problems - it should just install itself. (And remember it’s a patch, not a mod, so don’t use FLMM to install it; in particular, don’t install jflp.dll to freelancer.ini, since that being added to [Resources] is all I can think your problem would be).
