Help for [Mission 03 error] Freelancer Original Story
-
I have a problem when I am on this part of the mission where I need to meet Junko in the California Minor.
Just like on the video where the first scene will fly up to space and then Juni will contact you saying “Trent I am sorry I couldn’t meet you as planned…” For me this is not happening.
I checked the M03 folder and did not see any missing codes or wrong encodes. The triggers are the same as the “quickfix v1.0c” because I compared them. I even use the FLScan and FLchecker and the results are good and no errors found.
Maybe someone can help me find other parameters from other files which are connected to M03 files
This video is not mine.

Hi selene.
Can you post a copy of your character save file and i will try it out and if its the same for me i will be willing to try and help. it sounds/looks like a condition or trigger has been missed. Have you visited the bar? (just incase the scene starts there). -
Thanks for willing to help me. Appreciate it.
I am sorry but I forgot to type or say that I am using a mod so if I gave you my save file it might or will crash your game.
I checked my M03 files and they are all dated from 2003 so its all original files.
Maybe there are other files outside M03 folder that are connected or linked to M03.ini file that the trigger needs in order to play it.
Maybe I have deleted something from other files but I already forgot and I don’t know where it might be.
But here are the M03 files from M03 folder.

I have looked at your FreeLancer files and the important one which scripts the meeting (M03.ini) matches the original, as far as anything that occurs in New York system. I did notice that when I opened the ini, it was not compressed, which does not affect the game, but the original should be compressed.
So with that out of the way, my big question is this. Do you speak to the bartender on Manhattan before you leave for California?
He is what triggers the script which will give you a check-box about looking at you nav-map. If That box does not appear, I do know that as you enter California the game will close.Other than that, I think someone asked for the actual save made before you get the mission. It is kept in the usual directory: C:\Users\ (user’s name) \Documents\My Games\Freelancer\Accts\SinglePlayer
This is the autosave made when you return Ashcroft or if you make a save between there and getting to the Manhattan bar.
If you use Simple Save Editor it will have descrip_strid = 32220 in the first header of the file. If you don’t know, just look at the time Return Ashcroft was saved and send us that file.If talking to the bartender fixes it, great.

@ Pascal05
I was able to talk to the bartender and he said that Juni is on California Minor and then I went to the launchpad.
After the taking-off cut scene, the mission briefing window pops-up showing the waypoints to go to the New York -> California jump gate.
And then the problem occurs when I am about to get out from the planet to space. Juni should be talking to me saying that she was sorry about not meeting with me. Just like in the video I provided before.
So here is the cut version to where my problem is occurring.
@ Pascal05
You need my save file? But for what I said from my previous post that I am using a mod that might crash or not able to load to yours.
The mods that I have are not affecting the vanilla mission files. Because it is all about ships and weapons.
Maybe the reason is that I used the FLchecker and FLscan to scan for any errors and might have deleted some of those false errors before. In which I never knew that it will cause an error later.
@ khayman ; @ Pascal05
So anyway, here is my save file before talking to the bartender.

I saw that, now it would have to be, What is the Mods title.
Then we can see what the problem is.Also, it is important whether you are using Mod Manager, and what version. Most people, such as myself us 1.4 beta. If you are not using Mod Manager and have inserted the files, that may be the problem. If that is true, install the manager. Then, go to the FreeLancer directory and delete it. Don’t bother to uninstall it. Your save are kept elsewhere, so they are safe. Re-install FL and open Mod Manager. You will need to add your mod, but once done start it and try again.
Keep one thing in mind, if you are new to Mod Manager. The saves will be made to a separate folder (named for the mod) so you can play different mods without confusion.

After modifying the save game to work with vanilla/JFLP (replacing ship and loadout), it worked fine for me. I thought it might be a version conflict (internal mission numbers changed) but no, it worked with both versions of content.dll. I don’t know what else to suggest (other than the usual fresh install).

[Trigger] nickname = tr_0100_juni system = Li01 Cnd_True = no_params Act_ActTrig = com_0100_juni Act_EtherComm = Juni, 216301, Player, DX_M03_0100_JUNI, -1, pl_female4_head, li_hatcher_body ```That's where she says "… sorry I couldn't meet you as planned ...". It's triggered when the launch is complete ([c]lcp_to_ca[/c]), which is activated when you talk to the bartender ([c]chs_bart_bar[/c]). The mission briefing is activated at the talk, as well, so if you're seeing that (triggered on entering space), I don't know why you're not getting the message. There are two previous launch triggers, so it shouldn't be that, unless it's ship-related, if you've changed ship between Missions 2 & 3 (I used an Eagle). FWIW, I've attached my save, just before the launch.

Thank you for the info. I used your save file and even you change your ship the trigger still does not work. I checked the M03.ini file and they are all linked/connected to each other.
sigh… I think I will let it go and move on. It really doesn’t work. Thank you guys for the help. adoxa, Pascal05 and khayman

I see… that is why it is called “limit breaking” because it breaks some other triggers, values or parameters that will change how the game works.
My guess is if you used the “manually launch from docking bay (part 1) & (part 2)” for common.dll and server.dll, it might be the reason why Juni unable to contact you because when you go out in space, the game will initiate to let you manually undock from the docking bay and it will be confused because the original game never did that before.
So revert all changed values to its original values using any programs for editing hex values.
Let me know if this helped you.

HOLY CRAP! OMG!! It worked. Thank you wasabitoy!
You the man! You always make my game fixed from errors and other stuffs to flawlessly work in my game.
And of course, thanks to other people who also helped me -> adoxa, pascal05 and khayman.
I can play the campaign again with my own mod in it. OMG!
-
That’s great. I am glad I was able to help you and you are welcome.
So next time if your game is behaving differently or breaks again, just don’t forget to go back to limit breaking 101 to check what are the changes that you made before because you said that you used “some” other values that still might affect the game’s gameplay.
So that’s it… Problem solved!!!
