    Is there any way to get the blackhole well 3db to not NOT flip out when you turn away from it in game? What i mean by this is when you look at it head on it looks fine, turn your ship away from it and it disappears, you only have to move a few degrees and pffft, its gone

    Is this with the well in plain FL, or with my version Gibbon?

    I hadn’t noticed this effect with mine.

    Did you make the texture in the 3db file two-sided?

    Usually that’s a SUR problem… Maybe check whether the SUR is sized properly and its radius is large enough…

    We’re talking the one in plain jane vanilla there ST. I’ve never bothered with using it before so thought i’d try it out and noticed its little habit which is annoying the crap out of me

    Ok, well you can try MOON, PLANET or one of the other ones. I fixed tht same problem in my mod but Im not at home to see what I did.

    I tried that LS but i still get the texture flipping out. I think Startrader hinted at the problem of the texture needs to be visible on both sides of the model. (ST, you have a different version of it then ?) I’m no expert in this department so an explanation on how to achieve this would be appreciated by anyone qualified please 🙂

    I don’t know if this will fix it, mine doesn’t have that problem but I can see in HardCMP that the original one appears in section as you turn it:-

    Open the DATA\SOLAR\MISC\blackhole.3db file with UTF Editor.

    Open the Material library node, open texhole_material.

    Its type = Nebula.

    Change it to NebulaTwo.

    Save & try it out.
