Singleplayer savegame editor
-
Does anyone have a singleplayer savegame editor that works in Windows 10?
The one I have (Simple Save Editor) won’t decode the *.fl files and open them, the included flcodec.exe file won’t run.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Same setup I have. flcodec.exe won’t run even in WinXP mode and run as administrator, SaveEditor.exe won’t open the un-decompiled *.fl file.
I’m trying to set up a WinXP VM to test it there but can’t figure out how to get the VM to see the virtual HDD. Been working on it all day with no success.

Do you have the top 2 .NET’s enabled in Turn Windows Features on or off?

Simple Save Editor is Delphi, flcodec is C; .NET isn’t going to help. Since the only thing SSE does is automatically decode/encode, you could always just decode manually, use your favorite editor, encode manually (and you can skip that, FL will read decoded files). Alternatively, give this one a go.

I was just taking a stab in the dark, as I recently built a new W10 image and the all in one VC runtime and the above are the only things I baked into it and I am able to run the save editor just fine. So I’m tapped out of ideas as to why it’s not working for him.

I would have thought you would have been running latest W10 to make use of WSL2 for a development environment, it’s good.
Are there still things that don’t run on W10? Or do you just not like it, I resisted it at first, but quickly started to enjoy it.

I think the problem is in the *.fl file itself. The file is a savegame from trying out the Nomad Legacy mod. The restart.fl file can be opened and edited just fine, it just chokes on the autosave.fl file.
Any suggestions on what program to use to decompile the autosave.fl file so I can edit it in a text editor?

I swear I tried opening it up before and just saw a bunch of gobbledygook…
