Y! Haha. Retextured and cutted some things and they became a great cannons. They will have a worthy purpose as a ones of the heaviest weapons in FL - the Rail Shard Canonns. I will post a video soon.

If you mean a poly count, i dont worry about it, cuz bases i do have about 100k polys after connection of cmp parts of them. This will be a real Freelancer HD modification.
If you mean a size, this ship/gun relation exatcly shows the power. F*** the disco SNAC, this will be amazing in action and tactics, which i suppose to see after full realisation of ship interclass balance.

I do mean poly count. And while yes, you can have high poly models, hell, FWTOW has massive bases and capitals, we also use extensive LODing and proper poly-scaling. Remember that the issue is not really polys per model, its polys drawn on screen at any given time. Maybe you don’t plan on having many ships with that particular weapon model on screen at any given moment, but still, don’t be wasteful.

Wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t get pissy with you for using that model mind, nightstalker had to do some serious negotiating to use them when they were just modders.

I love the AFF ships, but in this case, downsized and fused with a FL model no not really great :-?

This is not an FL model, all what liiks like vanilla in my modification of Liberty fighter - is a cockpit, which i will remake too, of course. Wasn’t it obvious? Just compare:

Even if the ship is not and FL model, it is related to FL, right? Anyways it is not that important. Btw I had a similar Defender-ish fighter idea recently. Only except a torp launcher it had a big huge massive missile and booster rockets :).

I don’t think you’re hurting anyone either, especially considering how few people will ever see the ship, just letting you know they can take issue with people using their models sometimes. Hell, my mod is full of models pillaged from other games and I’ve used them myself in the past, though I never release anything so I don’t worry. Think if you can make your own model though, you’d be better off using it as a concept and making a more polygon friendly mesh, it’s too small to see all that detail.

The AFF ships into weapons looks nice on the ship.

It is unmistakable that AFF has some very well designed ships. I had use some in Gmod for making a concept for a heavy armored train, called the H.U.T.T, short for Heavy Utility Train Transport. I would post the image I had of it, but Photobucket site is completely out of wack. Only way to get it is using the old way now, copying the URL and pasting it.

Idea was to cut off the 4 tops and leave the the 5th section alone, then reconfige the front and the rear and make it more geometric. I might get back onto that design and try it again.

Hi. I remodelled my ship I started last year but never finished. This one is within FL polygon limits. I want model the cargo hold too, so when you eject the cargo and the baydoors open you will see into the cargo hold.

Ps. any advices what kind of textures to use for it ?

It´s uv-maped already? Maybe i can try texturize it? Just send me a copy
