If you like to mod the game just do it, don’t worry about how many players are left. So many games out there that it’s hardly surprising so few play this one anymore, but don’t let it put you off.

I play a stupid amount of games, but i still like to mod fl when it takes my fancy. Been making a mod for years now, probably never finish it, but who cares, it’s fun.

You know me mate, I don’t put restrictions on anything, they’ll be available for anyone to use so you’re more than welcome to use them.

Having trouble 3d ripping the Ds1 itself though, when extracting the mesh it comes in the 10-10-10 configuration which I then can’t export from 3ds max because it has a rediculous amount of faces with all the components combined.

If I can’t figure it out (I’m no modeller), then I might have to upload its mesh and textures and let someone else see if they can take it to pieces.

not sure, too. yes, its about just the playing fun to most of them, they don’t want anything bad… otherwise, where is your reputation on the modding branch, if noone necessary has to join your server to play your mod in multiplayer…

I don’t think it’s a visual problem. It might be something hardcoded (an arbitrary limit), it might be something about aiming, it might have to do with how FL handles hardpoints/weapons/equipment/whatever. It could be a LOT of things…

If it was a hardcoded limit then they wouldn’t simply let FL crash surely it would be handled and there would be an error message, or the extra guns would simply not show up or not fire etc.

Surely. We aren’t speaking of Freelancer, the game where certain bugs are considered as features ::)
