    well its working better, exept now i cant get any mods to work because the computer refuses to save them to FLMM they have padlocks on em and dont show up šŸ˜ž im gonna cry

    is it possible just to remove the integrated stuff by changing the motherboard??

    manage to get one of the older freeworlds mod working, and turned off the background stars seems to run fine now ā€¦

    Solved it (I think). I edited the header.htt file and removed the extra columns and it seems to be working ok.

    In fact, I wanted to change the haxagonal texture of the Tachyon 02. All time I start with a weapon with that, and that is probably and surely that! I will try to restore the hexagon and if itā€™s that, I will must rework all tachyon 02 ales. I shall add the new tex in the same txm as vanilla txm.
    Try it now, I will make an edit when I confirm that! šŸ˜‰

    Probably best to use the installer which is provided in two links. The problem was the game used an MS Server to tell you what Freelancer servers are online. They removed this server, so the community made their own version of it - and the installer at that location will make a little change so your game checks this server instead šŸ™‚ The installer should do that for you - it comes in a rar file format. If youā€™re not familiar with rar - then itā€™s like zip, and many archive programs can deal with it. If nothing on your system does, then http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm is the place to find it. Rar works even when itā€™s ā€œevaluation periodā€ is over.

    So extract the program from the rar, run it, and itā€™ll make a few changes to the ini file (hopefullyā€¦honestly, donā€™t know why they donā€™t just supply an ini file that you copy/paste over the existing one).

    Hope that helps. It is the first thing youā€™ll probably need to do. However, if you continue having issues - that page I first link to is the place to start reading (depending upon platform) as some seem to have issues with Windows and Freelancerā€¦the game was 2003 after all šŸ˜„

    About widescreen, yes, many serverā€™s mod bring widescreen support.
    But you also can use this tutorial to set up widescreen on your vanilla freelancer.

    And yes, online freelancer is another world, you have to test it šŸ™‚

    Edit: Fixed. Man, was I worried when I didnā€™t see anything at all. I know of the over item amount but, I only had that happen after docking and logging off. It was not seeing any characters listed at all that got me twisted. šŸ™‚

    Singleplayer generally refers to the Freelancer compaign, whereas Open Singleplayer is basically just the multiplayer world without other people.

    When you finish the campaign, it allows you to play on in this ā€˜Open Singleplayerā€™ mode, where are there no set objectives. Basically like a sandbox mode. This is identical to vanilla multiplayer.

    Many mods make changes to the game that breaks the Singleplayer campaign, so generally they either disable singleplayer completely, or disable the campaign and make it open singleplayer right from the start.

    For those who are interested by a solution, I solved it using a simple macro (autohotkey).

    Strangely, remaping WheelUp and WheelDown to another key doesnā€™t work on FL (itā€™s remaped, but Wheel still have effect on throttle -.- ).
    Even WheelUp::return WheelDown::return didnā€™t work.

    So, I made a pretty simple script that ā€œpressā€ the EK key 1/15 of second after the wheel is used. With this macro, engine is activated during a so very short moment that it almost donā€™t have effect on Shipā€™s path. šŸ™‚

    Here is the script :

    WheelDown:: send {v} sleep, 1 send {v} return WheelUp:: send {v} sleep, 1 send {v} return ```V is the key to kill engine, and don't ask me why I made it press 2 time, 1 time didn't work. In flight, it looks like it press it 1 time. I know this is certainly solvable by changing an offset somewhere, but I don't have the knowledge to find it

    Just go with plain old FL. If your ship is stock you can probably try just copying your save game file from where FLMM has moved it (due to the mod) - so as to be able to continue from save position (autosave may do this, dunno).

    Reinstalling to vanilla caused the game to crash when loading the old saves - and I wasnā€™t looking forward to replaying the whole campaign. My ship was an Anubis, with standard weapons - no other ship mods were installed.
    But working around the savegame crash was easier than figuring out what was going on with the mods, and once I was able to launch into space the necessary script triggered immediately.
    Getting from there to the end-game was a simple matter, and the storyline is now complete so I can focus on Freelancing.

    Regarding my plugins, at some stage Iā€™ll be using the official patch exclusively. The next release of JFLP wonā€™t include it, but the one after that will (I havenā€™t wanted to include it since upgrading may prevent leveling up in SP). Iā€™ll also be applying some patches directly to the files (prevent running dxdiag on a crash; preventing the system enumerator crashing when more than 10 gates/holes in a system).

    I had the same problem at one point when I used to play Disco

    I believe it stems from Video Card incompatibility, or drivers.

    Canā€™t remember which fixed it, I know I got a new card around that point, so if drivers donā€™t work you might be out of luck on that machine.
