well it did not crash out the server so i am not worrried it didnt kill my precious new computer so i am not worried. it is just weird one minute you are distroying the rouge weapon platform and finishing off the rest of the rouge problem. then they all just vanish.
Nothing but freelancer. BUt I am going to re-setup Wine anyways, since I encounter some nasty bugs here and there and totally filled the application with crappy stuff I guess.

One thing I forgot to say above is that I am now successfully running all 3 sessions in one user account - it is a commercial server and additional user accounts are expensive.
…
Ah… one account… ;(
Dunno about multiple flserver managers in one account…
1. Variant about 3 different server managers at one user session not so good
2. Sheduled scripts for servers maintanance and restart trough flhook socket - must be good (i tried netcat - works!)
3. Half Life reanimator must properly close and restart porggys by window (first tab), but i did not checked it yet
(i will try to translate this nice program)
you will need to tunnel the proxy unless someone can hack the game massively enough to support proxy server connections (nice hint, would include it definately to my mod due to that myself am behind a proxy usually)
This particular behaviour is caused by two things:
the anticheat.dll plugin.
a timing bug?/behaviour in Freelancer when you alt-tab out. The effect of this behaviour is that a ship travels too fast and then stops; this repeats causing the anticheat plugin to kill the ship.
Most discovery servers run the dsace anticheat plugin which works a little differently and isn’t as sensitive to this problem.
I was not aware of it and never found the folder by accident either. But that should mean that it does not work on my machine, since I’ve often used PrtScrn to make screenshots - usually for making my ship icons.
But - not alt+PrtScrn, just PrtScrn works to the clipboard from inside Freelancer (I’m using XP too). Then Alt-Tab to get out of FL (sometimes it takes some time, or two-three goes, or the FL Screen just refuses to go down!) then start IrfanView and Ctrl-V to paste it into IrfanView. Very easy - usually!
If anyone at all can see it and connect to it and play then everything is OK with your server. But you may have your player limit set low? 16 is the normal.
For those who can’t see it, it’s a problem with their setups. Can they see any other servers in their lists, and can they connect to any of those?
untill a recent server change / reinstall the cloak guns worked fine / npcs couldnt see the admins and players didnt crash .
unfortunatly i wasnt around for the reinstall of fl which was done by one of our other admins so i dunno what was done.
I know there is a sequence in which the admin/lelos mods are installed on the clientside that effect the way it works(one overwrites the other ect) and actually causes the problem that i described but i have tested all these and it seems its ok.
Allso for what i remember the admin mod does not need to be installed serverside because an earlier admin had written the nessacary parts into the lelo mod and this was installed on the server as well.
Without getting into ALE editing, the most you can do with engines and their trails is swap out their effects for pretty much whatever you can think of.
We use FLAC which generates an online players stats log every couple minutes. Then we have a program written by Banzai that parses the stats.xml log and converts the info we want to html. That file then is linked on the website.
The page has to be clicked, it doesn’t just show up on the webpage, but it’s there.
i am at a loss the only thing i think of is server errors . i dont think there is any everything is up to date the latest discovery and everything. thats would problably be the only problem.
Hey, I have the same thing happening to me and I’ve tried both solutions, removing the My Games data and disabling the 3D sound. Is there anything else that could be causing this or any other options to try to correct it? I’m running Discovery v4.85 on a side note.
