temporarily decreasing difficulty? Since the save points are 20 minutes apart, it’s a bit annoying when you only have 1 hour to play, and have to play the same 20 minutes including cutscenes again and again. So, just in case I run into further problems…

DirectPlay8 uses the same ports as FL, correct? It’s also checked off as an exception in Windows firewall. Do you still get the ??? ping?

well, the wave editor i use, audacity, always tells me about an import of an mp3 when i open up a riff wav file. maybe your media player starts reading with the wav script, when it sees a wav ending. try renaming the files, their format is still being mp3.

initial world.ini file. Self explanatory really when you look at it, only use values that you already see in the file and if you change a faction remember to change it for both factions concerned. Empathy.ini file can be tweaked in a similar fashion, that file controls how you’re rep is affected when you complete/fail missions or kill members of factions.

Once in blue moon me get virus, and me reformat um 😄 disk.

But me make image of um fully-loaded clean 😄 disk and all me need is um restore image on um 😄 disk only! 🙂

If you find another version number than 1.0 at the server list and you want to try out the modification, you should first look at the server name, it mostly will tell you which mod you need.

You’re much better off starting like Gisteron said and then expanding. ENBSeries, Why’s effects and the HD textures pack should already be a significant improvement. Heck, you could use Itano Circus as it’s quite close to vanilla while having many improvements - Why’s released mostly every component as open source. Just credit him if you ever release anything out of it.
