Mods can get youin trouble! I have two mods on my game. I have been banned from two serververs because of them. The worst part is I cannot get rid of them. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Somehow the mods remain. I suggest all players avoid mods. Unless youre a programer who knows hgow to get things back to normal!

Which mods? Also, deactivate them before you re-install freelancer. Moreover, it might help as well if you re-install Freelancer to a different directory.

SImple, deactivate them first, restore backups second. Never had a mod activated that wasn’t intentional.

small mods have often such issues as large mods are usually made by experienced modders and tested by accurate testers. also an old version of freeworlds i installed once had that. simply uninstall freelancer, delete the old freelancer directory entirely, install FL again and it is clean.

Ok, first of all you CAN’T use mods on Vanilla servers. Just the ones they’re meant for. So, for example use SW:WT only on the SW.WT server, not HHC… etc.

Also, just delete the folder after uninstall. That gets rid of any mods that weren’t deactivated correctly.

And just loosen up! You don’t need to be a modder just to activate/deactivate a mod. If you mess up, we’re here to help.

P.S. You should talk to the admins of the servers you were banned from after you got rid of the leftover mods, I’m sure they’ll understand.

You can get rid of any mod very easily:
1. Delete the whole …\Freelancer folder, and then
2. Delete the My Documents\My Games\Freelancer folder too. Simples! -
3. Go to www.comparethemeerkat.com and do not pass “GO” on the way!
