Starlancer Ship Packs
-
Ok, those aren’t problems with the ships or mat files. Each ship has one individual dds texture which i can guarantee works as i have all these models working without any problems.
Are you using a sur file with those models? Have you set the lod range to a reasonable distance? I have mine set to 0,9999 which covers any visilbilty issues. None of them are hardpointed so anything hardpoint related is down to you, assuming you hardpointed the models. There is also a good chance the models need resizing as i just exported them from milkshape without doing any size comparisons.
These ships are not plug and play but for more experienced modders who wish to use them. The intention was always to let other modders hardpoint and size the models to their taste, as i’ve done with them myself as we all have different opinions on where guns should be mounted etc

SLExtractor - thanks to Elite Games

Heheh…
Well I clicked the link, and read about Tolstoy and Lenin - twice!!
But it didn’t give me anything about downloading SLExtractor.
Of course my Russian is as good as my Martian

Fixed Try to read Tolstoy and Lenin again

@ nerd1000
OP has all the tools in his Starlancer download section on the Portal. SLExtract is only half the battle. The capships and bases i’m not releasing until i’ve finished my Starlancer based mod. Then they can be plundered for anyone who wants to use them, as i refuse to make available over 50+ models excluding fighters ready for FL.
You will need a few other things to get it all working, hope you have the time as it took me ages

Thanks for those, I’ve been looking for a good bomber to play with, I’ll dig through and find them. I know you said you hadn’t resized them, what are you using size wise for your mod? just for an idea
-
Basically standard FL fighter sizes. Have a look with FLModelTool at an eagle for example and you get a radius number. I then size the fighters to something similar. Other way is also to look at the shipdealers and the figures standing there, if the ships look too big, then i downsize them. If too small then they get made a bit larger.

I hadn’t played StarLancer in years, should I assume that (aside from Anna V) the fighters are all roughly the same size?

Haha. Download the 1.5 GB to take 1 model…that sounds as if you thought there is nothing else Crossfire has to offer. besides (and not touching the aspect whether OP would even allow you to use files from Crossfire), why do you think anyone else has to “Download the 1.5 GB to take 1 model…” to share it with you while you can download it yourself? moreover, you are free to browse for those models on the web and to convert them into freelancer format. i understand that you might not want to pay the time and i even understand that you don’t want to download such a large archive if you have no further purpose for it. but if you don’t like solutions that are not only fast and easy to you, maybe you should not request. we are a community, not a service team, we won’t always beam all of the donuts right into your stomach, you have to swallow them yourself. we might put them onto your dish but rarely more than this.
sorry… don’t take it bad, i just read such comments several times, not only from you, and well, its starting to be ridiculous. oh, and i’m somewhat tired so maybe this post sounds more aggressive than i actually wanted it to…

I hear ye Gist… most of us had to do our own dirty work… find ppl… ask ppl… if all else fails convert, texture and format ourselves… normally with no prior knowledge of the task but having (wanting!) to learn along the way… that’s the heart of modding & more often than not brings ppl closer.
Trying someone’s mod your about you lift for resources is just courtesy… talking to the owner/maker and discussing that mod’s points… maybe offering something in return… Is a community
