How to HOST a MULTIPLAYER at LAN without using internet connection???
-
So - only NOW you tell us it is Vista!?
Does Freelancer run properly on that machine when you do have an internet connection?
I have just confirmed that on XP:
1. When I disable all my network connections I cannot see my LAN FLServer on the same machine.
2. If I set my Freelancer.exe shortcut to ââŚ\freelancer.exe -s127.0.0.1:2302â then I can see my FL Server and can connect to it and play, even though all my network connections are still all disabled.
3. I have VirtualBox installed on my laptop, and this has made a virtual network called âVirtualBox Host-Only Networkâ. If I enable this I can see and connect to my FL Server without doing 2.
4. I have tried both Plain Freelancer 1.0 and 1.1, and both follow 1, 2 and 3. So whoever said 1.0 cannot connect on the same machine - wrong info!
On Vista I believe you have to disable IPv6, and disable MS Security Essentials and all anti-virus programmes? Try it.
Why donât you set up a dual-boot with XP on your machine? Iâve done that successfully on several Vista machines, some of the guides on the Internet work fine, I just chose the easiest one to follow. You may have some problems with drivers if your PC is quite new.

Yes it works fine when I have an internet connection. I can connect to the INTERNET list server and there are many servers available.
But when I went to the LAN, it is empty also even if I have an Internet connection.
Do you think that I should upgrade my VISTA to Windows 7?
Is Windows 7 the same as the XP but with more new features?
Can you also try if you can play Freelancer in Windows 7 by using the ( Freelancer.exe shortcut to ââŚ\freelancer.exe -s127.0.0.1:2302â ).
Cause if you can connect by using this shortcut IP addon at XP, then how about Windows 7?
Thanks.

I donât yet have a WIndows 7 machine, can anyone else try and report back?
-
Been running on one for a long time now and itâs great. Better experience than XP, if that says something.

I mean can you do this test on Windows 7:-
-
@ To the people, modders, etc. and whoever knew/know how to do this.
Can you please test this to Windows 7 cause I donât have that OS.
StarTrader and I mean:
1. When we disable all our network connections we cannot see our LAN FLServer on the same machine.
2. If we set our Freelancer.exe shortcut to ââŚ\freelancer.exe -s127.0.0.1:2302â then we can see our FL Server and can connect to it and play, even though all our network connections are still all disabled.

Did somebody already tried to host a LAN multiplayer by using ADOXAâs procedures on Windows 7?
When you are not connected to the outside world without internet, wifi, etc.
Where your computer/PC/desktop/laptop and you are both together doing nothing and play Freelancer alone.
How can you play the the Multiplayer?
By using ADOXAâs tips - - - - -
This is ADOXAâs hack procedures on how to do it :
â-- 1) Go to your Freelancer group and start FLServer (or run Freelancer\EXE\FLServer.exe);
---- 2) enter anything for the name and make sure âAllow New Playersâ is checked;
---- 3) bring up the properties for your Freelancer shortcut; you should now see the âTargetâ highlighted, so press End and paste in everything between the quotes: â -s127.0.0.1:2302â;
---- 4) start Freelancer, select âMultiplayerâ, create the account if you havenât already done so, select âLANâ and you should see your server there.
Please can someone please try it on Windows 7 if it will work.
Thanks.

I need to post something even I already posted many messages so that this topic will not be remove from the LATEST POSTS above.
Cause people will not see my topic if it is removed above.
Can someone please try the method of ADOXA on playing LAN multiplayer without an internet connection or no connection to the outside world ( World Wide Web ).
I donât have any source of Windows 7 to try this anywhere. My friends uses XP OS and none of them uses Win 7 yet.
If I rent a PC, I am just wasting my money only just to do this trick.
If somebody has a Windows 7 already or someone is using it right now, please try it.
Thanks.

@ rsabatino
Thanks for trying it.
So it is still just the same as the Vista.
Well XP is really the best one for gaming compatibility.
Windows 7 has also a IPv6 problem?
Oh No!
Not again it is the same like Vista!
Thanks for trying.
Wish that on Win 7, there will be a fix for this.
HEHE!!!

the ipv6 could be because of my ethernet adapter it is nvidia so that could be the problem . you can still host a server with windows 7 . but after awhile my ipv6 would come back for no reason even after turning it off. i would stick with xp.Is there no way to make Freelancer support IPv6?

If IPv6 keeps coming back, look at the following to fully disable itâŚ
