i buy the javelin heavy assault cruiser from plant mercury earth alliance system and i go to launch it and connection to the server is lost. Any help

Sounds like a mod to me, some files are client side and some are server side, are you connecting to a non-modded server?

Well, I’m pretty sure in the normal game there isn’t a javelin heavy assault cruiser thats buy-able, unless your referring to the missile launcher?

the Javelin on ‘mercury’ is from the Rebalance mod. def modded.

its only buy able at an oucast planet in omicron alpha and earth alliance system

Then thats his problem, he’s connecting to a non-modded server with modded client files, this will earn you one metric kick off the server by whatever anti-cheat it is using.

Additionally if I remember rightly capital ships or cruisers etc required some sort of server side adjustments to work properly?

Your not quite getting it, being able to buy a “Javelin Heavy assault cruiser” from anywhere means it IS modded, that ship is NOT in the original game.

as I said before. The Javelin Assault Cruiser, the Earth Alliance system - those are both from the Rebalance Mod

Besides the fact, capital ships alone (even vanilla ones) are not playable in unmodded Freelancer. The fact alone that you are talking about a Capital means its modded. The fact that you’re talking about the Javelin in the Earth Alliance system means its Rebalance. I know my old mods.

An even bigger clue, Earth Alliance system, not in vanilla FL either plus he says he can buy it on omicron alpha, no capships for sale there or anywhere else in normal FL. MODDED!!

Just to add this, you should re-install freelancer to revert everything back to normal. Then if you wish to play with capital ships then download the mod of choice and connect to its server so you can experience it.

You will not be able to play on your own server as it requires one or two files if memory serves that are server side that aren’t included in the packaged mod.

My advice would be to make a copy of the freelancer data folder somewhere else on your machine so that you can restore it if needed.

i used to run a rebalance server there were some bugs in the mod that would make the client and the server crash frequently.
