Is the Phoenix mod still running on a server somewhere?
Is Gibbon still around?Mods not running on a server anymore but you can still download it from the strategy informer site. As for Gibbon, he hasn’t updated his moddb page in a while but I expect he’s still up to mischief, think he frequents SWAT sites rather than here now.

At any base push + - buttons

Also other numpad keys such as arrows.

Arrrghhh…
OK, so I set up a Virtual PC using WindowsXP Mode in Windows 7
I keep getting a ERROR: set_display_mode(800,600) failed.
I hit abort and get a ERROR:General:options less than 0 again error.Any suggestions?
-
I very much doubt you’re going to get a game running properly in XP Mode.
-
hmmph…
What’s the point of XP mode then?Think it’d work better with VirtualPC?
-
No virtual machine will run games well.
-
Just under Windows 7 works well
-
Not for me it doesn’t. I have the soundbuffer problem and can’t install the Indeo package.

First off, thanks for the access to this forum part!
Second, i like the crosshair set of the Beta, so i was changing the vanilla FL one to it.
Probably some of you may like it too, it’s attached.
@robocop
Did you try to install the indeo package without the browser plugin? It worked well for me on W7 64 and the sound buffer problem is gone.
-
Did anyone ever make a final for this?

When running the indeo codec setup I never even got to the screen that gave me the option. I click on the file, get the windows ‘publisher could not be verified’ window, hit ‘run’, and then the little wheel spins and nothing.
Running as administrator and in Windows XP compatibility didn’t help either.

Did we get the other disc working yet?

I just found out, in the Beta data\Ships\kusari\ku_battleship\ku_battleship_dmg_rear.3db is the correct model.
In the release version this model is the same as ku_battleship_dmg_mid2, thats why the Kusari Battleship’s rear breakes up strangely when getting destroyed and has the wrong model/visible area of the cut-off.Edit 1:
Some fun from m13.ini:“Act_DebugMsg” = “They killed Kenny! Those Bastards. Lets get the Mothership!”
I am also pretty sure RH06 was not called Bremen. It was called Dresden. The entry for Bremen was overwritten by Dresden and the old Dresden entry was removed.
Edit 2:
From old resources.dll:011019 Bretonia Comet Battleship
011026 Kusari Stealth Battleship
011033 Rheinland Mobile Attack CarrierEdit 3:
As far as I see it, those Battleship names are the equivalents of the Liberty Dreadnought, since they also had their normal named “Liberty Battleship”.Edit 4:
Seems like ther was another special station like Baxter or Benford:Hackert Research Station is a fully automated research facility administrated by the Liberty Security Force (LSF).
The name “Hackert Research Station” is “West Point” today (but not the Academy, seems unused).
Also the description of the Juneu Shipyard in Alaska differs:
Juneau Station is the command center for local elements of the Liberty Security Force (LSF).
Today it is called the shipyard where the Osiris class was invented.
Edit 5:
infocards.dll 065949 begins with “VERBOTENE ZONE”.
Thats the name of an asteroid ini file never used, but following the description, it’s the same field where the Bundschuh base is located, Taunus Field.
Also the name “Taunus Field” 261278 is in the Beta called “Verbotene”.Below it, the today called Westerwald was called “Geheimniswolke”, thats where the Nomad Prototype facility is located in the campaign.

Hackert appears in the vanilla nameresources.dll, in the section on base personnel it says “Hackert bartender remove” or some such. West point has two entries one specifically for tradelane use as whereever -> west point military academy projects out the side of the dialogue box. I suppose they just used an empty ids entry to make it

Delete HKCU\Software\Digital Anvil\Freelancer\xp to reset the first-run date. I’ve submitted an unprotected exe, so you may only need to do it once… The new exe also restores New Game (it starts when you land on Manhattan; crashes on Mission 2 going to Colorado, but AutoSave continues) and Load Game. You can start the story now by copying exe\Accts\SinglePlayer\restart.fl to exe\Accts and loading the game from the Tutorial. Doesn’t seem to have affected anyone else, but I’ve also enabled Multiplayer when you’re offline.
Shift+I is a thorn debugger - just shows the timestamp and script file.
Use command line option -t to add player trail options - FACE to face the target; TRAIL to stay a set distance behind (this is great); and STRAFE LONG to strafe along a target (doesn’t really work).
Single player has jobs, although only certain bases have news (not that I’ve looked). Manhattan has a real newsreader for the first story news, but it seems all the others are TTS.
I think they made the right decision in cutting the trader dialogs…
