Fllistserver open beta

For joining the public beta you just need to modify your freelancer.ini in your EXE folder .

You’ll find the following line:
hostname = fllistserver.zone.msn.com ; GUN server in
Redmond (DNS entry)

Replace that line with the following lines:
;hostname = fllistserver.zone.msn.com ; GUN server in
Redmond (DNS entry)
hostname = gun.fllistserver.com

This works for servers and clients. Feel free to add your server.

Known issues till now:

• The “update” button won’t work
  You won’t get a list after leaving a server

That’s Pretty Good. I Assume That Adding that to the host Computer’s Freelancer.ini simply tells it where to connect to?
No EXE Hacks or anything…
When will this be added in a self-installing EXE format? Some People are unwilling to mess with their FL files.

First, ask those to Crazy, I doubt he visits the forums here. CatDog just copied the announcement over there.

Second, it’ll be done when the thing’s no more in Open Beta?

ATM Crazy is trying to get the DNS from M$, that way ppl don’t have to change anything.

the way i know MS they will NEVER give away there DNS!

We can always hope… But I do think were they to give it away, the pricing would be rather steep.
