Ship seen on landing

I want to eliminate the docking ring and use a station instead, is there a way to have it show a shuttle landing on the planet rather than your ship? this would work alot better for capships and large frieghters. its always bugged me to see large ships landing on the pad when they would more that likely make a nice light show burning up on reentry.

You’ll have to edit the THN for the landing sequence and swap out the playership for whatever model you want to use, but I’m not into THNs enough to know how to do that, sorry.

I think that you will need to alter about a quarter of the THN’s in the SCRIPTS/BASES folder to get what you want, every landing, launching & 'scape THN references the “playership” or parts, each and every one of these entries will need to be changed.

Maybe you can use a batch find & replace tool…

Is there something other that Fled-thorn to edit thn files with. it just keeps telling me that a it failed to make a temp file

Sorry Sabina but that’s the only app we have.

I recently found that Fled-thorn gave me that error because I had it on one HDD and Freelancer on another, once I had them both on the same drive it started working again.

Well then id say that the prob, i know for a fact they are on separate drives. ill fix that and try again Thanks
