why should somebody use lightmaps on something that has no dark areas (shadows)?
starspheres are illuminated in a natural way and working somewhat different than other objects in FL

Chucking my own Nebula In seems to be causing issues. I can’t seem to resize them. Any suggestions?

I realise this is an old thread, but I don’t think I need to create a new one just to ask help:

I presume the ini is supposed to be in the same folder as the exes, and you just input the ini name ‘star.ini’, then hit the button?

I do that, get a command prompt window flashing for a second, then nothing. Nothing obvious happens.

Anyone got an idea of what I’m doing wrong?

Er yes it does. Gibbon updated it ages ago and it works fine. Make sure you’re using the 1.1 version

It’s in a folder calling it 1.1, but the program is telling me it’s 1.0.
Regardless, with the ability to simply right click and run CMD there, it’s so much of a big problem, for me at least.

It all runs as it should if it’s in the same folder. You simply click on the BuildStarsphererunner.exe, enter the name of the starsphere ini that you made and click on the big button at the bottom, it really is that simple. Don’t bother trying to use just the build_starsphere.exe on its own as nothing will happen. They are dependant on each other and the first exe i listed actually does what you ask. Have a look in the README as it’s all in there.

Try this version, works fine for me. I’m assuming Windows XP use here, no idea if this works with later operating systems

Yeah, I’m on XP.
That’s identical to what I have, so maybe it’s just a local issue.
Not a big one, though, but thanks for the help anyway!
